Just back from 7 days at Caravelle B&B.
It’s one of my first times at a B&B and despite some initial worries I had a wonderful experience.
Caravelle B&B is situated in Capitana – Quartu Sant Elena, it’s brand new, it opened 1 month ago, the owners are Stefano, Riccardo and Andrea.
When we arrived at 9.00 am, we were greeted by Stefano who showed us the place and escorted us to our room (great to find room ready for check- in at that time). Room was a good size, very nice with simple stylish decor, lcd tv, free high-speed internet connection, air conditioning; bathroom with shower and wc in an alcove; towels were provided but there were no toiletries, nor a hand soap, but I think it’s like that in B&B’s. We were given a triple room, then we asked for a twin room but there were only double beds. Beds were comfortable.
We were offered breakfast, also if we were not supposed to have it, it was a nice touch.
The property , as I said, is brand new, with parking place, swimming pool, relax area with hammocks, private seaside access.
The next morning we had breakfast in the patio, there was coffee and milk, selection of tea, fruit juice, croissants, fresh bread, selection of fruit jam, yogurt, cereals, pie, fruit. Every morning following the first breakfast Stefano remembered our choices and brought them at our table after greeting good morning.
Room cleaning and towels change was made every third day of stay.
Some candies were left in the room after it was made up and all our clothes (left on the chair) and stuff were folded and put into place.
One evening we received a call and were invited from all the owners for a pre-dinner cocktail in the patio next to the pool, very nice touch.
The pool is a decent size, high brand garden – sun chairs all around.
At the place you can rent mountain bikes, Canoas, play volano.
The gate (private access to the seaside) with the view of the sea is amazing.
Riccardo, Andrea and Stefano were always there and they were more then willing to give advice on where to eat and beaches to visit. The last day we had to leave our room by noon but we had been offered the chance to chill out in the place, use the pool, the whole day before we had to leave. They also offered us coffee and fresh water.
The only downside were some problems with hot water in the shower, they tried to fix it but it didn’t work properly. (it will be surely fixed up)
The place is 27 km from Villasimius and its wonderful beaches, I really suggest you to visit Spiaggia del Giunco and the Costa Rei, some km away from Villasimius.
Cagliari is more or less 12 km away and on that side I suggest to visit Chia beaches (spiaggia de Giudeu) 97 km from the B&B, it’s amazing.
There is a home-away-from home feeling and very courteous and without pretension service.
The owners are doing the best efforts to improve the place, it will surely get better and better. I have to say this is the place to be if you visit this area of Sardinia or on the other hand go to the Sofitel Thalassa for more then 300€ at night…
Can’t stop giving thanks to Stefano, Riccardo and Andrea for the wonderful experience and their kindness.
After Caravelle B&B we went to another B&B near Oristano, but there isno comparison at all, Caravelle is really kind of a luxury b&b.
Tell them that you read this review so that they will remember me.
