“Best room in town!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 November 2011

This was our 2nd stay at Hotel Casmona, both times in Room 301, which I think is the best room in town. This time, we stayed 5 nights. It is a large corner room, with loveseat, desk, king bed (firm mattress, with 4 hard pillows), and 2 windows overlooking the promenade. It has high ceilings, and is light and airy. Decent size bathroom with shower. Fairly quiet, we heard nothing from other rooms, but some noise from people on the promenade with the windows open.

There are double doors to a huge veranda overlooking the sea, the beach, and the wide promenade of Camogli. The veranda has a table with 2 chairs, as well as 2 lounge chairs, and a large tree offers shade for much of the afternoon. The view of the promenade is fantastic to watch the locals strolling, kids playing soccer on the rooftops of buildings, fishermen taking their catch to restaurants, etc. We also had beautiful sunsets every night. When you see the town from the ferry, Casmona appears to have the only tree-shaded terrace in town.

They offer a breakfast for a fee, which we did not do. Instead, we bought fresh focaccia, juice, and cappuccino every morning from a local focacciaria, which was delicious and inexpensive.

The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was spotless.

It is a 5 minute walk to the train station on level ground, except for a flight of stairs down to the entrance. There are numerous restaurants and bars all along the promenade and overlooking the harbor. It is another 5 minute walk to the ferry.

Room Tip: Room 301 is a corner room with a huge shaded terrace and the best view in town.

“Best location in Camogli”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 31 October 2011

After visiting Camogli and Hotel Casmona five times we finally managed to book the most requested room: nr 301. With a fantastic large private terrace and an amazing view this room is stunning. The service is ok and the ambiance is very familiar. The hotel is not big and luxurious but extremely charming and the best location you can ask for. The beds could be softer.
We will definitely return again.

“Perfect Location”

The best position in town overlooking the seaside promenade. All rooms enjoy a wonderful sea facing view and are clean, tidy and functional with the hotel breakfast room overlooking a spectacular view of this beautiful fishing village. Camogli is my favourite place in all of Italy and the Casmona is the perfect place to stay.

While the hotel is ideally situated on the coast, the room was disgusting and in need of repair. Wallpaper was curling off of the walls and the thin carpet was apart at the seams. The bathroom had black streaks in it and there was an overall smell to the room that was not pleasant.
We had a big room facing the coast but it was mostly disgusting.
When I went to the front desk the staff was rude and not helpful as if I was a bother. This was one of the better hotels in the city. When we went out to investigate the town, we picked up some of the locals who were looking for the opportunity to relieve us of our personal items. I would recommend skipping this city all together and stay in Santa Margherita which is about 5 miles away and on the coast. That city is lovely with many options for an overnight stay.

“A very nice hotel in the lovely cinque...”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 July 2010

A very nice hotel in the lovely cinque terre. Ideally situated in front of the sea and above the promenade. Atmosphere is joyful, rooms seem to have never been revamped since the 60s, which give this place a cheesy taste that I personally look for. And Camogli is just an amazing, yet overlooked, destination in that area. 1st class
