We love this jappy hotel. We stayed for five nights last year and booked for eight nights this year.
The people who run it and work there are charming, hospitable and accommodating, and the service is fantastic. They remember if you prefer coffee or tea in the morning, they do the room earlier or later as it suits you, they rush to make the best cocktail known to man as soon as you hint that you want an aperitivo... Everyone remembered us from last year, which suggests that they like working there.
Put all of this in a spectacular setting - right on the seafront promenade in a stunning coastal village - and you have a first-class holiday. The breathtaking view of Mediterranean blue from the breakfast room will help you forget whatever you're getting away from.
Is the Casmona perfect? Every room is different, with individual plus and minus points. Some are very small, some are amazingly large. We like 101 very much - it has no windows but it has a fantastic terrace right on the sea, shady in the morning and hot in the afternoon.
The Casmona is not the ultimate in luxury - it has only three stars (but they shine very brightly). Foam pillows, ageing TVs with dodgy reception, internet access off the lobby (if you absolutely need it). They don't turn down the beds or leave chocolates on you pillow. And we wouldn't change a thing about the place.
We are already checking our dates for next year.
This is a gem of a hotel.
