the hotel is in a lovely position the rooms were small but clean. the down side was the food the pasta was cold everynight could never find the waitress to complain she was a nightmare where the other half of the restaurant had a bloke who was great that half of the restaurant were always finished there meal at least half an hour before our half. One night after waiting nearly one hour on my main course I had to find her and ask has she forgotten all I got was sorry sorry and waving her arms about

Room Tip: a room with a balcony is best

“Beautiful setting”

I've just got back from the All'Azzurro and its a lovely little hotel (if basic). The positives far outweigh any negatives. There are lots of comments on here about the food and yes, it could be better on occasions but for a 3 star (Thomson rate it 3 star, the hotel rates itself 4 stars) Italian hotel I would imagine its average. The anti-pasti was a little dubious in nature but you have another 3 courses if its not for you. Their pasta dishes were generally nice and the tomato pesto dish I had on my last evening was really yummy. There's plenty of fish on the menu and I enjoyed it all. I was usually too stuffed to enjoy the desserts.

The main reasons to go to the hotel are its amazing views and location in the town, and the lovely staff. Alberto the manager is so friendly and funny and very accomodating. Our waiter Luigi was an absolute star too.

On the whole, I'd go to the All'Azzurro again which I think is the best recommendation I can give it.

“Lovely Hotel”

Just back after 2 weeks half board. Ideally located hotel, room very small and disappointed not to get a balcony but got the best table for evening meals - outside overlooking the Lake. Service was top class, I'm a bit fussy so when menu did not suit I requested a pizza from main rest. menu (as per review on this site). Very clean and tidy. top tip - Palm Hotel next has happy hour between 6 and 7 which All Azzuro guests can use.

“Great Location - Excellent value for money”

Visit sept 2011. The All'Azzurro is a charming period style hotel in a brilliant location, by the lakeside, near the ferry pier and close to the centre of this picture pretty resort. We paid a little extra for a balcony, full lake view room (well worth the extra). We were pleasantly surprised to find the room had new air-conditioning and a useful fridge. The room was spotlessly clean and serviced every day.
We stayed half board. Breakfast had a wide choice, from bacon, sausage, scrambled or boiled eggs, continental; jams, cereals, choice of breads, fruit etc. The staff were attentive and helpful at all times.
The evening meal consisted of 5 courses, including a quarter litre of free wine. The meals were really nice, varied and tasty, occasionally the veg was a little over cooked, but on the whole it was exceptional value for money.
The swimming pool on the first floor terrace was bordered by lime and lemon bushes and overlooked by a pretty 15th century church and the cliffs behind. Again with lovely lake views.
The resort centre is pedestrianised, so the hotel offered a free buggy service to the town car park for trip pick ups. We would visit again, although perhaps in May as the aspect of the hotel, (Limone is on the West of the lake) meant that in late September the resort looses the sunshine from late afternoon.

“"Nice hotel shame about the food"”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 September 2011

Just come back from Limone staying at the All'Azzurro with my Mother. The hotel was very charming and in a great location. The rooms were serviced on a daily basis and to a good standard, however, we were a little disappointed that we were put in the annex which overlooked the street and was quite noisy. I wish we had paid the extra and had a balcony/terrace. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful especially our waiter Jamal who was rushed off his feet, but always managed a smile.

The main disappointment was the food. The breakfast was very limited including white bread only and a toaster that didnt work unless you put the bread through 4 times. 2 different types of cereal and canned fruit with yoghurt.

The evening meal was terrible, it was totally different from the restaurant that served nice food to paying customers. However, guests that had paid for half board got over cooked tasteless food which you had to choose the day before (like a stay in hospital), and tasted nothing like the description. For desert it was either ice-cream (not the lovely Italian ice-cream but cheap nasy stuff) or fresh fruit. If you asked for fresh fruit you were presented with an unpeeled orange on a plate with a knife.

One night we were late back from a trip and as we had missed the evening meal we ate in the restaurant for paying guests and the food was delicious. We had a pizza and then ice cream and we were presented with good quality italian ice cream not the cheap stuff we were usually given. I am sure its the same chef so instead of having 4 courses that are not edible why dont they have 2 courses of good quality food like the restuarant serves.

Room Tip: pay extra for a balcony/terrace. The views are spectaculor and a shame to miss.
