We made this hotel our first stop on a tour of the Italian Lakes and Austria. Traveling from Bergamo Airport it took us about 1hour 30 mins to reach Limone[Lake Garda]. The Hotel is right on the waters edge with hotel reception on the top floor.It's a little difficult to find when you are driving and the road is narrow when you leave the main road to decend to the hotel built into the rock. When we arrived we were amazed by the beautiful view that the hotel looks out to the Lake. Our room was pure magic with the water lapping up on the beach directly below our balcony. The meals were excellent, varied and well cooked. The hotel staff were very helpful and spoke good english. The swimming pool was huge and immaculately clean. The only downside was the lack of a reasonable sized Bar in the evening. The reception area had four easy chairs which was not really good enough when we had rain one evening.
After a three day stay we moved on to Austria. we will definitely return to this hotel.

Having been looking forward to a holiday without our children this was our first venture into hotel accomadation with half board. On arrival we were very warmly greated and given a tour. From then on everything we encountered was better than aticipated, food, facilities and particullarly the staff were excellent. We will definately be going back. P.S the surrouding area is also fantastic, just go.

My husband and I stayed at Villa Romantica in Limone with our two small dogs in August 2005. What a delight! The warm, friendly and welcoming staff speaks a multitude of languages (this area is visited predominantly by German tourists) and are happy to accommodate.
The location was fantastic...the only hotel right on the beach, and a short, picturesque walk to the pretty town of Limone. Our room (number 502) was one that was designated by the hotel for having pets (all tile floor) and was five steps from the beach. (The room could have used an extra piece of furniture for placing bags however) The bathroom, although spotless and well-appointed, was quite small...but the location made up for that).

The beach, tucked in a quiet cove, was cleaned each day yet left unspoiled and natural. Each day a few chaise lounges and umbrellas were scattered here and there, one under a weeping willow, another couple on the old dock. Very tasteful and peaceful.

We were booked as half board (meant to only book B&B) and at first were reluctant to return to the hotel for dinner each night. We were pleasantly surprised the first evening at a wonderful meal, including an excellent (and abundant) antipasto and salad buffet followed by a delicious 3- course meal. (Wine is an extra charge, but the friendly and efficient wait staff will gladly recork and conserve your wine until the next evening.) Indeed, after we sampled the dinner the first evening we understood why it seemed everyone staying at the hotel was having dinner at the hotel! We recommend getting there ON TIME (for breakfast AND dinner) for a good seat with great views next to the window.

We had a lovely time, had excellent service throughout our stay, made new friends and can highly recommend this hotel...we'll definitely stay there again.

Villa Romantica, a lovely old pink Venetian villa (modernised inside) is probably in the best position on the lake. It is about a ten minute walk through cobbled alleyways into town. Peaceful, discreet and quiet, this place runs like a swiss watch, the breakfasts are generous and wonderfully fresh. We had fabulous weather when we were there for just five days (B&B), everything you might need is to hand. The pool area and gardens are lovely with remains of the old lemon groves in the grounds. We had a balcony which was a great asset. Would be just perfect if they installed air-conditioning, much of the hotel is built against the rock but our room was very hot at night, no mosquitos though so we slept with french windows open to the sound of the waves lapping the shore right below. Just great.
We would return.
