Had originally booked this hotel for 3 nights but arrived 2 days early. Unable to accommodate us, the proprietors (family Montagnoli) could not have been more helpful ,recommending a small nearby guesthouse . With the offer in the meantime of the use of the Hotel Gardenia pool and to dine there.
The room we were given when we took up our booking was spotless and had a beautiful view of the lake.
The whole situation of the hotel in relation to the lake and village is spectacular. ( I do feel that less fit or able bodied people should not choose this hotel as there are quite a number of steep steps to climb) .
The evening meals that we took in the hotel were simply cooked, authentic italian served with a smile and in a very clean attractive dining room.Breakfasts were plentiful, buffet style.
The pool although not large was clean with comfortable sun loungers provided. The terraced garden areas surrounding the hotel were immaculately kept (gardener seen on several occasions).
The Montagnoli family run an excellent establishment and should be complimented on their achievments - it is obviously a labour of love. I would not hesitate to return or recommend this hotel.

I have just returned from a five day stay at the Hotel Gardenia in Limone on Lake Garda and I have to say that it was the most beautiful, relaxing experience. This is a well-located luxury hotel, spotlessly clean and very comfortable, with stunning views of Lake Garda. It is ideally placed for the centre of Limone, with only a short walk to the jetty where ferries will take you to many other lakeside towns, although it should be mentioned that La Gardenia would not be suitable for people with walking difficulties due to it's hillside location.
The family Montagnoli who own the hotel, are lovely people, who will cater for your every need, including the preparation of wonderful authentic Italian food. Visiting La Gardenia is an experience not to be missed.

This hotel is well worth a visit. You will not be disappointed
