“Kudo's to Hotel Monteriggioni”

We just returned from a 2 week visit to Italy. We spent 6 days at Hotel Monteriggioni. What a treat. We could not have been happier. The rooms were spacious and very clean and we had an unbelievable view of Tuscany from our window. The owners and staff made us feel like family. Each morning we were treated to a special continental breakfast with wonderful pastries, fresh fruit, meat & cheeses, yougart, and cereal to name a few. We used this as our central location for travelling throughout Tuscany and Umbria by car. This worked out very well for us. We then left for Lucca to a not so wonderful hotel. We stayed one night. That night at dinner we called Hotel Monteriggioni to see if they had 2 rooms for the next evening. They did and we returned for one more glorious night at Hotel Monteriggioni. We had a very warm reception. We will definitely return to this wonderful Hotel and will go back to see all the friends that we made both at the Hotel and the restaurant Il Feudo.

“Magical Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 June 2007

Monteriggioni is a beautiful, charming village and we loved the hotel. I cannot say enough good things about the owner and staff. I broke my ankle during my visit (not at the hotel) and everyone took such good care of my husband and I while we were making arrangements to fly back to the US for surgery. The hotel really went out of its way to arrange a car to take us to get crutches and the Rome airport and kept checking in to make sure we were ok. They made a traumatic event as comfortable as possible.

We thought the hotel was very nicely done and very comfortable. The pool out back looked very inviting. Monteriggioni is really a magical place and I felt like I was staying in a picture book. Although we did not get to eat breakfast at Hotel Monteriggioni - as I hopped through the lobby to get the car it looked absolutely wonderful.

We also recommend Il Pozzo for dining - it is literally right across from the hotel. Our meal there was elegant and delicious.

“Wonderful place!”

I am surprised this property isn't more widely known on Trip Advisor because it is absolutely perfect. It is a nicely priced 4 star hotel in a quaint little town with easy access to the rest of Tuscany. The staff is very nice, with a special nod to Sylvia, the young lady who was generally around in the evenings. The town has a few little restaurants, the best of which was our best meal while in Italy - Il Pozzo. The Tuscan steak was outstanding. The rooms were nicely appointed (small shower tho). There is a small, nice pool in the very nice garden behind the hotel. The breakfast was the best we had at any hotel where we stayed during our trip. We highly recommend this hotel.

“An okey hotel in a nice location”

First let me say that I think Tuscany is the most over rated destination in the world (which slightly colours my view...).

We stayed the weekend and paid about 250 euros for each night - I thought this was on the expensive side in terms of value for money. The rooms were very, very basic (although not unpleasant), and the hotel itself doesn't really have a lot going for it (small pool, empty bar, useful parking inside the city - they didn't have an iron for us although if it had been a weekday they would have ironed our clothes for us) except its location. Monteriggioni is nice (and has one of the best restaurants we have ever eaten at), but it's a short term destination (a weekend was plenty - it is a tiny place). My wife insists we go back to Tuscany, but even she would not stay there again - if I were going to the area again, I would stay somewhere else and make it a day trip to Monteriggioni.

“A Little Piece of Heaven Outside of Siena”

Outstanding and friendly staff ... spotlessly clean ... a fairy tale vacation stop. Hotel Monteriggioni is the choice for anyone looking for a quiet yet centrally located stop in Tuscany. Our second stay in this quaint, historical walled town at the Hotel was just as magical as the first one 18 months ago. We arrived the first time as guests and have been family ever since. This small hotel -- 12 rooms -- is the remedy for travellers looking for an oasis in this breathtakingly beautiful part of Italy. Fifteen minutes to Siena ... forty-five minutes to Florence ... some of the best roads in Italy lead to virtually any Tuscan or Umbrian treasurer of your choice.
