We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and found the complex clean, staff very friendly and pools lovely. We were fortunate to stay in the newer block and were pleasantly surprised. It was quiet, clean and adequate. Wouldn't like to have one of the older ones after reading previous reviews. Tried to hire a fan from the Flora supermarket but they don't have them to rent any more due to hotels complaining and making it a health and safety issue. We refused to pay the extortionalte price demanded for air con so we did without. Despite the intense heat, we survived and slept well Avoid the hotel food and very expensive drinks and get out into Lindos village. Yes, it is expensive there too but surely you're paying for the unique setting of this beautiful place. You are one of thousands so of course, they're going to make the most of it. Avoid the rip off taxi's and walk or take the bus. Don't pay for holiday trips or use the village travel agencies as they too are rip offs and not worth doing. Go to Rhodes town on the bus and do everything yourself. We learned the hard way!

Although we booked well in advance, through a well known travel agent, we seemed to have been given one of the highest rooms in the complex (and Lindos is an incredibly steep town to begin with). The staff were very friendly and helpful and the pools/bar areas were decent but the double room - two singles pushed together - was very basic and we were shocked that we had to pay for air conditioning (70€ per week which we presumed would be a given) to even be able to sleep in the 37°C heat. It is situated in a great location for visiting Lindos and great base for touring around the island in your hire car (definitely recommend). After visiting our friends who were staying in a few other hotels dotted around the area of the same price range, we definately drew the short straw although if we had stayed in a more accessible and comfy room this may have improved our experience.

We would like to thoroughly recommend staying at Lindos Garden Apartments. The location is very good (although up a steep hill from the beach and village so you need to be adequately fit, although i think you can get a bus and the walk is only around 10-15 mins). The rooms are basic but clean and comfortable. We didnt do any cooking in ours though and ate either at the hotel but mostly in the town each night which was good value for money.
The staff were great especially the bar staff who put on a great Happy Hour each night.
Well worth a visit!

Overall, I was a bit disappointed with this holiday. I'm not really sure why anyone would want to stay in Krana, which is above Lindos village. There are no real benefits to staying in these apartments. You can't really do self-catering as the facilities are limited, the walk is a killer in the heat and the prices in the bar are daylight robbery (5.50 euro for a vodka and coke).
They charge for absolutely everything, air con (49 euro/ week), safety deposit box (15 euro/ week), even delivering your cases to reception on check-out (2 euro).
For a family of three (2 adults and a 4 year old), we had a budget of 100 euro per day. It wasn't enough. We ended up getting a very basic bacon roll for breakfast, making our own lunch and eating out for dinner. Even then, we were watching the pennies. We had to share a starter and never ate dessert because we couldn't afford it.
The food at the Lindos Gardens is 'ding ding food' i.e it comes out of a microwave. Burgers, pizzas, chips etc. Plenty of it though, if that's your thing. "Svens famous kebabs" were underwhelming to say the least. Not really sure what they are famous for :-)
Our apartment was ok. Basic and totally wrong for us as we often sat on the balcony when our 4yo was having an afternoon sleep, but the balcony had no sun at all, so we've returned whiter than expected despite the heat.
The pools are nice, but the infinity pool is badly laid out. People put their towels down really early (or maybe late at night) taking up all the sunbeds with shade. That left the sunbeds with no shade free. The people who reserved the sunbeds with shade then proceeded to pull the sunbeds out of the shade into the sun!
Lindos is basically a Greek theme park, teeming with overweight tourists breaking the backs of those poor, unfortunate mules toiling to get so many bulbous bodies up from the beach. OK, if you are a kid and fancy a wee shot on a donkey, fair enough. If you are a 17 stone Russian, give the donkey a break. You need the exercise.
The food in Lindos was a letdown. I felt that it was served without love, all the restaurants serving the same food, all price fixed so there are no deals to be had.
Sadly, I would not recommend Greece to anyone, despite having a lifelong love of the country. It's the price of everything that will astound you. It's not just the Euro, it's the Greeks themselves. They've taken it all too far. I was in the local Supermarket Flora in Krana Square looking at olives which were priced on the label at 0.50 euros. They were charging 4.50 euros. That's the common mark-up so beware. Go to Turkey, it's just across the water and much, much better value.
