This modern hotel is in a great position, only a 10/15 minute walk to the Roman ruins and the centre of Merida. It has plenty of parking, but you can park for free on the road outside. The room was very comfortable, clean and spacious. The breakfast is excellent. However the staff throughout the hotel left a lot to be desired. The reception was just okay. In the restaurant we arrived just at opening time and were sat at a table for 10 minutes before we could find any table staff. The food was good but we had the impression of amusement and disinterest as we were eating earlier than most Spaniards would eat. Unfortunately the day after we checked out and were in another country I discovered that my 5cl bottle of perfume, in my clothes baggage, had been completely emptied ....... must assume stolen as no sign of leakage. The only time that this could have occurred was 30 minutes during breakfast on the day of departure though there were a number of cleaners on our floor at the time but this obviously wasn't much of a deterrent. There obviously is a security problem because the hotel information labours long and hard on the subject of keeping your baggage out of sight in the wardrobe, closed and locked, if possible, at all times. My husband laughed at me for following the advice in detail but he wasn't laughing the next day when he had to buy a new bottle of perfume.
