I booked this hotel 4 months in advance asking for a room with balcony for 3 nights. What I got was a dark, damp and cold room on ground floor with a window right onto a narrow, bussy street. With open window there was no privacy with passing people pipping into your room so close you could shake hands with them and cars splashing puddle dirty water into the room. The noise from passing cars over cobble stone pavement was horrible. With closed windows the noise was still overwhelming day and night. The aircon system was so inefficient that it made no difference and the room remained damp and cold all the time.
I believe that the 2 star standard of this hotel applies only to rooms on upper floor and with external windows. This 2 star rating does not apply to all ground floor and internal rooms with no windows or internal windows to narrow corridors.
To avoid similar disappointmnet similar to mine make sure that your reservation is for an upper floor room with external windows otherwise stay away from this hotel.
