“Average hote - great location in nice little town”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 September 2009

This hotel is small but very well located, around 300 metres from the main tourist square in the town and about 1Km from the Cathedral and Alcazar. There are lots of cafes and restaurants in the surrounding area, including a supermarket where you can stock up with food and booze if you are on a budget. Needless to say, Spanish wine is cheap and excellent.

If you are coming in a car, the hotel doesn't have a car park (although you can stop outside - taxis permitting - to unload). The receptionist recommended I use a local car park but I chose to park in the street, which is closer and cheaper. The downside is that you have to return to your car to top-up your ticket but I was only staying one day and this wasn't a problem (in Spain you only pay to park at certain times of the day, the other time being free).

My room was very small but spotlessly clean with a good bathroom. This isn't a hotel that you will want to spend much time in (it's small and there are few facilities) so that was not a problem since I only used my room to sleep and clean.

The hotel has free access to the Internet using a desktop PC in the lobby, which is fine for checking e-mail. If you bring your own laptop, it has wi-fi but this is neither free (10E per day or 6E per hour) nor very reliable (I couldn't access it from my room).

The room also has a small TV, not that you will want to watch Spanish television, which consists of young, attractive Spanish people arguing about their love lives (I presume, since I don't speak Spanish but I know [--] when I hear it) .

Jerez is a lovely town and the location of this hotel helps you make the most of it. Recommended.

“Stay at this Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 July 2009

The Hotel Tierras is well situated a few minutes walk from shops, bars/restaurants and sights of Jerez e.g Cathedral, Castle etc. The hotel operates a bed and breakfast basis consisting of continental style with fresh juices, cheeses/pates bread cakes etc with a waiter on hand to serve you tea/coffee etc. You can buy snacks and drinks at other times but does not serve evening meals but this isnt a problem as Jerez is full of good restaurants to name a few I would recommend the Casa Pepe (in the car park near the train station) The El Patio (they do speak a little English here) and if you like Italian then The Juan is excellent although a little difficult to find if you dont know the area as its is tucked away in the back streeets. I am sure the hotel staff will be able to point you in the right direction as they are extremely helpful in all matters. Some of the hotel rooms could do with a lick of paint and new carpets but other than that they are kept spotlessly clean with maid service and towel change each day.
I have stayed at this hotel four times and will definately stay there again on my next visit to Jerez. The hotel does also have free internet access.
While in Jerez, catch the train to Puerto Santa Maria and Cadiz for a visit and if you have enough time then Seville is in easy reach on the train.

“Great location and excellent value.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 March 2009

This hotel is ideally situated central to Jerez. They have private parking at a charge but we took a risk and parked easily in a nearby street, although this was obviously a quiet time of year and could be a problem in the summer.
Staff helpful and welcoming, and the room was of a good size for ourselves and our adult daughter, but no view as the window was internally facing, Spotlessly clean and a good shower. We didn't have breakfast as there were so many wonderful nearby cafes for us to choose from. The strength of the euro meant that food was relatively expensive but we had got a good deal on the price for the room and would definitely stay there again should we return to Jerez.

“Great location.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2008

A comfortable, well positioned hotel in Jerez. Only a short distance to both train and bus stations. Easy access on foot to everywhere in town. Restaurants (as advised by hotel staff) and shops close to hotel. Hotel staff very helpful, polite and willing to book various attractions and visits. A very enjoyable stay.
