“Average”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 2 August 2011

Room was average although a 4 star hotel we would equate it to a 2 or 3 star. The cleaner was clanking about in the corridor cleaning room or the corridor from 9.00 to 17.00 not good if you want a siesta. The cafe/bar was always empty as it is expensive and should close at 23.00 but at 22.40 we walked towards the bar when the sullen employee switched off the lights as if to close.
Breakfast is 14 Euro or if pre booked 9, not worth the money since the cafe next door is cheaper and just as good.
Parking is good, the hotel has its own underground car park 3 nights cost 39 Euro
In summary average hotel centrally based with parking.

“Good value hotel in downtown Jerez location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 June 2011

Stayed here for 3 nights at start of week in Southern Spain. On checkin allocated room 209 which was overlooking the street and was quite large & roomy but as there seemed to be noise from the outside cobbled street quickly went down to reception & changed rooms. Allocated room 219 on same floor overlooking central atrium/air vents. A bit smaller than room 209 but perfectly fine. Firm long beds Very good A/C - as needed in 41 degree heat, Small fridge for water & drinks Good curtains & blackout blinds. Good sized bathroom with tub & bidet. Small amount of toiletries & soap dispenser on wall.

Hotel was kept well & in great location in the town centre near all the bars & restaurants. Did not have breakfast or use the hotel car park. There is ample free street parking nearby a few minutes walk away. Given that a lot of the other hotels are on the main route in/out of Jerez, the Tryp is ideally situated in my opinion for all the old town trips. it is a easy walk back to your room after a day or night in the old town.

Ate at Bar Juanito and was pleasantly suprised as I thought it would have been a tourist trap but it wasn't. Very good value & nice open air setting . Good steak dinner at La Carbona and best meal in Jerez was at the White Cross - La Cruz Blanco in a little square in the old town, well recommeded. Great tapas to start with and fab fresh fish with unusual flavours - orange marmalade sauce on my dorada, scrummy.

“Great hotel but no free internet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 February 2011

My partner and I spent one night at the hotel Tryp Jerez, which we booked on the internet the day before and got a very reasonable price. However we didn't get breakfast included but as the room was quite cheap that didn't really bother us.

The hotel has a lovely feel to it of grandeur and elegance. The reception area is large with a nice little drinks and snacks bar at one end. The room was fantastic, very clean and in the bathroom we were provided with L'oreal products which I was very impressed with! There were room service menus provided from outside companies, which reception call for you and place your order. The room was spacious and light, the only downside being our view was of a wall.

The bar in reception was lovely with big comfy seats and a range of drinks. The service was all very high standard and made us as guests feel valued. There is a computer in reception, however you have to pay to use the internet which in my experience is quite uncommon nowadays in a 4* hotel, most of them are free.

We felt that the hotel was in a perfect location, one of the best in the Jerez. We had within walking distance numerous bars, cafe's shops and cultural attractions. The tourist information office was literally a minute walk away.

“Close to the center and nice staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 October 2010

The Tryp Jerez has the same quality approach of all the Sol- Meliá network: good value, good offers, very convenient location and nice staff. The hotel is within walking distance of the city center and the major atractions including the Tio Pepe sherry cellar. Do jnot forget to ruide the tourist train stopping at El Arenal and have some "bull meat " at Casa Juanito.

Stayed September 2010. Rooms were clean well presented and quiet dispite fronting onto main square. Convenient position for several bogedas and the Royal School of Equestrian Art. The reception staff were fantastic ,from giving directions to the hotel ,arranging bookings for visits and for a doctor to call when one of our party became ill
