Stayed here for 3 nights at start of week in Southern Spain. On checkin allocated room 209 which was overlooking the street and was quite large & roomy but as there seemed to be noise from the outside cobbled street quickly went down to reception & changed rooms. Allocated room 219 on same floor overlooking central atrium/air vents. A bit smaller than room 209 but perfectly fine. Firm long beds Very good A/C - as needed in 41 degree heat, Small fridge for water & drinks Good curtains & blackout blinds. Good sized bathroom with tub & bidet. Small amount of toiletries & soap dispenser on wall.
Hotel was kept well & in great location in the town centre near all the bars & restaurants. Did not have breakfast or use the hotel car park. There is ample free street parking nearby a few minutes walk away. Given that a lot of the other hotels are on the main route in/out of Jerez, the Tryp is ideally situated in my opinion for all the old town trips. it is a easy walk back to your room after a day or night in the old town.
Ate at Bar Juanito and was pleasantly suprised as I thought it would have been a tourist trap but it wasn't. Very good value & nice open air setting . Good steak dinner at La Carbona and best meal in Jerez was at the White Cross - La Cruz Blanco in a little square in the old town, well recommeded. Great tapas to start with and fab fresh fish with unusual flavours - orange marmalade sauce on my dorada, scrummy.
