Perfectly situated, with a garage that will qualify you for docking the space shuttle, this is a great choice. You will be in Caceres to see the old town, and the Don Carlos makes for easy walking to everywhere. The room rate is derisory.......it should be higher.

We had read of this hotel on Tripadvisor at our previous stop in Spain and so headed for this one when we arrived in Caceres. My husband was slightly horrified at having to manoeuvre the car through the narrow streets to get to it but they did have underground parking-one of our criteria when choosing a hotel.

I walked to the hotel to check it out while my husband waited with the car. First impressions: a small hotel, the building is ancient but has been modernised very well, very clean without losing the feel of 'old'. Very attractively done.

The manager, maybe owner, offered me her last room which was up in the attic, and asked me to check it out, as some people found it claustrophobic up in the rafters.
I think the room was on the fifth or sixth floor, but it actually felt open because the room and bathroom were large, furniture kept to a minimum and skylights had been added.
The room was 57 euros including an excellent buffet breakfast for two. We paid eight euros for parking in addition.

The hotel was right in the middle of the old part of town, narrow streets, old buildings, little squares full of restaurants, shops etc. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the hotel had a very pleasant ambience.
It's a great little hotel for those people looking to experience old Europe and I thought it was a good bargain.

Our room was very spacious with a bathroom you could dance in (on the 2nd floor). Should be much higher than a 2 star hotel - staff spoke English and were very helpful - especially Carolina. Very conveniently located in old town. We didn't have a car - just caught a cab from the station (approx 6 euros). Paid 50 euros through the week including breakfast which was adequate but normal for Spanish breakfasts. Have obviously introduced free breakfast and internet since previous reviews although you had to go to the foyer to get the wireless connection (computer on ground floor for guests as well). Couldn't fault this hotel.

It's quiet, very clean, right in the city center. Parking is available for a small fee, which was a great plus for us. It's listed as a 2-star hotel, but feels more like 3 stars. Excellent value for the money.
