Stayed in a self-contained apartment owned by the hotel for four weeks. The staff couldn't do enough for us. Paid 60 euros per day even during Semana Santa (Easter) and had daily cleaning. Very modern, safe (only two apartments with locked door from street).

Be careful with the FALSE PUBLICITY of this hotel: the pictures of the rooms and of the bathroom on its web (and reproduced on the webpages of the travel agencies) don't belong with the reality. The rooms are much worse than they appear in those pictures, and the same happen with the bathrooms. In general it is a very seedy hotel, and if you get, like me, an interior, dimly lit room, with an old and noisy air conditioning machine that you hardly can regulate, with some furniture in bad condition and a wardrobe in so a state that you hesitate to put your clothes in,... all these things can end up spoiling your stay in Cáceres. To sum up, the Alfonso IX is the seediest hotel I have never stayed in, and I don't know how this hotel can be classed among the two stars category, offering rooms so bad as the one I had. If you can, look for another option although you pay a little more.
