Used this hotel as a stopover from Santander down to the Algarve, almost halfway between the 2. Fairly easy to find from the main motorway south although you do wonder where you are going through one way residential streets.
Main drawback is that the restaurant does not open until 21,00 although you can get good bar snacks if you do not want to wait that long - there is also a McDonalds within walking distance. Excellent buffet breakfast.
Plenty of free parking around the hotel on the residential streets if you cannot get into the hotel carpark.
No English tv channels - not even news channels.

A smart hotel, suitable for business travellers, and for birders who want to explore the area west of Caceres. But it's difficult to access without a satnav and is a good 35 minutes walk from the historic city centre. The restaurant is closed on Sundays and Mondays - ironically the two nights I stayed! The rooms are well equipped, but I found the bed far too soft and the shower in the bathroom is difficult to manage. Service at the front desk is very good and there are pleasant public areas.

Good reception and good price though room could be better and pool area seemed strangely disassociated from the hotel and not massively appealing. Pleasant staff and the room was quite nice. Bathroom was good although bits of bad design so I kept on hitting my head on a towel rack every time I tried to leave the shower and the shower taps in conflict with the rim of the bath. Was difficult to get to the window/curtain so spent much of our stay in darkness. Also the room could have been both better cleaned and with approved attention to detail. There was dirty linen left between the twin beds and yellowing on the sheets at our arrival. 

We wanted a hotel in Caceres that was easy to get to off the Autovia, and didnt involve driving within the town centre. The Barcelo was good. It was comfortable, reasonable value, but don't go there for a charming/quaint Spanish hotel experience. It was a bit souless, but was fine for our needs.
