Stayed last night. Arrived late and went to room. We were a bit worried about smell in room, but decided that it may have been due to lack of use. Went out for dinner...came back and when opening door were disgusted by smell of fried foods. Went to reception to ask for a "smelly candle" or something...they must be used to these complaints, as the man in reception took out a spray can from a cupboard behind him, came to room and proceeded to "disenfect" by spraying almost a whole aerosol in the bedroom and bathroom! Quite hilarious actually, as the floors were so wet we had to be very careful entering bathroom and bedroom. Don't know what was worse, smell of cheap frying fat or chemicals from the spray! We were told hotel was full and no other rooms available, so tried to sleep....room 3, apart from being 1 metre away from an extractor fan, was also above reception/lobby. Full of people, so amazing amount of noise until everyone went to bed. This morning, woken up by staff/clients walking near room and other showers/toilets etc.
The towels in our bathroom smelt so much of fat that we didn't shower!!!
Everything was shoddy, doors hanging off frames etc. Only one toothbrush/shampoo/soap in a double room.
Staff really didn't want to know about problems, only wanted to charge everything and not at all helpful. Tried to get them to SMELL towels, but were too busy...
Beds were horrendous. Old fashioned, and probably old spring mattresses, cheap and thin sheets.
Bang&Olufsen TV's but in the 3 rooms booked, only one worked, and not very well.
I am a member of the NH "alliance club" and booked this hotel (3 rooms) based on past experience. Never again! Tried at reception to mention the problems, but was told to write everything on their form, nobody ( and I speak fluent Spanish) was willing to pass me to a hotel manager.
