“Only use this hotel if you have your own transport”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 October 2010

The beach promoted by the hotel is inaccessible. There is a police checkpoint at the entry to the hotel because of the surrounding area and the proximity of Naples FC training ground. It is a good distance out of Naples and remote from the tourist areas. No information in rooms regarding local public transport etc. Hotel is clean spacious and comfortable but some of the rooms are a VERY long way from the restaurant and bar so you need to be fit. The local 'Marina' is in fact a small fishing harbour and factory.

“Differnt opinion to others”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 October 2010

We stayed hear for just over two weeks in May 2010 and it was a last minute booking due to needing to change from the strike bound Crowne Plaza a few miles away. We emailed to hotel for advice on taxis and the extremely efficient front desk arranged a preferential rate Taxi from the airport and return. On Checking in we were upgraded to a suite and fresh fruit was in the rooms together with bottled water.
Exploring the hotel we found the grounds well cared for and an enormous pool, that apparently had not heated up yet; it was early May.
The Buffet at dinner was extensive but limited on the hot courses. The deserts are great. English was not widely spoken but the always found some one who could speak English.
The Lack of a car was not a problem; the hotel has a complimentary mini bus that has a few routes including Naples. Naples is what it is a large commercial port but also a fine promenade and an extensive shopping area. The small town nearby by mini bus is a relaxed area with some shops and restaurants.
When we were there two or three Saga groups (specialist tours for the 50 plus age groups) were staying as well as a Carabinieri conference so security was never an issue.
The service was first class although the need to ask for pool towels nearly every day did seem a bore. At breakfast we had fried eggs and fresh juice brought to our table with out asking after the first two or three days.
The somewhat critical reports suggest that maybe the visitors where expecting southern Italy to be like the North, we found it as we expected and the stroll though the Marina and boat yard to the local village was as expected from a working marina and fishing port. Never saw any dead dogs only very lively ones. The local village had at least two mini markets one with a large selection of fresh fruit, but again be patient with the lack of English. But that’s what ravel is all about.
For a similar holiday we would visit again.

“Nice when its sunny”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 October 2010

This is my second review of this hotel after a last visit 4 years ago. Whats changed, well the menu in the restuarant has, with there now being a 20 euro per head buffet which was very nice. there is also a handy shopping centre/supermarket just down the road, oh and supprised to find the hotel full of saga trippers who seemed to delight in being misirable. I guess i might be the same if I was not in my car and had to eat in a big function room every night, but for us, the staff were friendly, the food good and fresh and rooms very nice. I knew how bad the local area was so did not bother, but for a couple of days of just chilling out by the pool, it was bliss. Did not visit Naples as its still a dump. Just once again, a word of warning, this is resort hotel with nothing in the area. For golf and relaxing yes, with your own car, oh yes. But I'd hate to be stuck there wanting more with no own transport, after all its not like you can take a nice evening walk into town. Internet is charged at 15 eur per 24 hours access, but good high speed conection.

“Potential not reached”

Stayed one week Summer 2009 for friend's wedding. Suspect was the fact that the hotel lies directly on the beach, which is not mentioned on website or in ads of the property. They do refer to their location at the Mediterranean Sea but nothing further. The reason is, that currents and waves are too strong for bathing. There are plenty of signs to remind of that. It is also very windy along the water. It was a long drive from the airport and the area starts to fade in charm, the nearer one gets to the hotel.
The staff was very friendly and forthcoming. The tiled floor in the clean room was very comfortable in the heat but the decor was rather lack luster. A bathtub and bidet were a welcome sight and the small lanai delightful for sitting in the morning or evening, if it weren't for the moscitos. They were unwelcome guests at dinner on the terrace of the restaurant and made us decide against lingering at the pool after dusk.

The wedding was beautiful and everything was just as it should be, including service and food quality was appropriate for the investment made. The golfing facility and the soon to open spa, will certainly ad to the amenities of the 4* hotel but the ambience still has a long way to go. No hint of luxury a resort should have. Ok to spend a night or two, one week was decidedly too long. They do have the potential to improve on all points!

“rubbish”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 September 2010

went with Saga all inclusive/ one of the worst holidays have ever been on. supposedly 4 star more like 2 or 3. Lovely hotel very clean. Waiters completely ignored us everytime we asked for a drink they went off into the back somewhere, were left standing sometimes half an hour before they drifted back. They even said they didn't like serving Saga people only paying guests is how they put it.
No entertainment, a pool table with only one cue which you had to put your name down the day before to play. A golf course which was payable, putting green we could play on but they wouldn't let us, said we wern't correctly attired. They wouldn't specify what the correct attire was but then said, 'as you will be crossing the golf course you will need proper golf attire'. What rubbish.
The village nearby was a red light district and extremely rough, we were told by the police not to walk there after being propositioned half a dozen times by men in cars. The beach such as it was was caged off and padlocked, in any case it was very undesirable to look at. The marina just outside the village was this horrible filthy place with no boats but several dead bodies of animals floating about. The prostitutes were everywhere around that area, unlike ours they had a chair to sit on, we first spotted one coming out of the bushes wiping herself down, at first we were all amazed, this was on the main road to Naples.
We didn't go to Naples, Saga expected us to go for nightlife, but we were arned not to. Some went on a day trip and finished up going round on a tour bus the whole day till the coach came to pick them up, it was so rough they darn't get off.
The food at the hotel was dreadful, there were no Pizza's never had one the whole time we were there. The food was always cold, very little choice and very little to eat anyway. we couldn't even go out for a meal as there was nowhere else to eat.
