I've stayed at this hotel several times over the past couple of years also and have always been really comfortable and well taken care of here. The location is great, easy to get to, central in Minden, and adjacent to the central old town shopping area and town square. The rooms are good sized and comfortably laid out, with modern decor featuring black marble and dark marled wood, a welcome change from the stark white of so many modern German establishments. The judicious use of mirrors in the hallways and on one wall in the rooms make the rooms look even larger and brighter. The rooms are very clean, well maintained, I like the very functional and uncramped bathrooms, and the beds are very comfortable, with nice duvets. The staff at the front desk are friendly and accommodating, and they speak English well. We have had some delicious dinners in the beautiful but underutilized restaurant. They have some vegetarian options which we appreciate.
The only problems are that the internet reception is patchy, with generally weak signal strength and some rooms not receiving an adequate signal at all. And there is an annoying log-in system which logs out automatically after a short time and requires frequent re-logging in. But at least the internet service is free.
I would recommend a room facing the rear of the hotel since the street noise in the front can be annoying, especially with the window open, which is necessary in warm weather.
I would definitely recommend this to any traveler to Minden, either for business or pleasure.
