I read reviews of this hotel on other travel forums and everyone said great things about the property. I was surprised that nobody had bothered to write a review on TripAdvisor. After our brief overnight stay at the Neckarblick, I would say that this property deserves at least one glowing review.
We spent a quick getaway weekend in Bad Wimpfen, so we wanted the city center to be very accessible. The Neckarblick fit the bill exactly, as it was just up the hill from the old town. Check-in was finished in a blink of the eye and the woman at the desk was very pleasant. She said she didnt speak English very well, but she was always able to convey her message. At the very least, she was extremely understanding about our lack of German.
Our room was the basic Panorama room on the third floor (no elevator). We were pleasantly surprised at the size of the room and it was very charming. The ceiling was raised with wood beams, which gave the room a very open feeling. There was a large bed with comfortable bedding and a big sitting room with a couch, desk, TV, small card table and refrigerator. We were especially pleased with the huge, modern bathroom in our room.
The area around the hotel was filled with great biking and hiking trails and there is a wonderful park only a few steps from the Neckarblick front door. We did not have the chance to eat at their restaurant, but we would highly recommend Lukulos at the end of the lower end of the Hauptstrasse. The breakfast spread was large, but it goes fast. The buffet was mostly picked clean when we came downstairs at 9:30am. The breakfast room has a great view, as does the outside patio dining area. The hotel overlooks the Neckar River and all surrounding small towns.
We would definitely return when we go back to Bad Wimpfen.
