The rooms were old (170 years old), beds were OK. Internet access was quite frankly terrible - day and night - not a load or bandwidth issue - probably some defective gear. Staff was nice, helpful, but really a poor match for business, and too expensive for personal travel. Breakfast was minimal, but not in the basement as some others had said it was.

The only thing that this hotel has to offer is a convenient location, and nice staff. While meeting with a colleague in the lobby, I heard a guest return to the desk 5 minutes after checking in and ask for a refund so they could find another hotel. The staff explained that this was an historic hotel and was 170 years old, but cheerfully provided her refund.

Arrived late at night, got my single room. Old dirty and not up to ANY standard of a modern hotel. Changed rooms asap to find myself in a larger nicer room that was loud and with a seventies style old ugly bathroom.
No, sorry...... old..... not well aged and poorly managed to say the least.

The worst: Breakfast. Not much on the buffet, no service, no cleaning........ terrible.

Crossed the street, checked in to "First hotel" Lovely modern, clean and with a nice breakfast and service. Go for that!

The staff was very friendly. The room was fantastic and very clean. It is easy to come to the hotel by car, train or bus. We will visit Saxildhus again.

Average sized room with comfortable bed and good bed linen, very clean, huge bathroom but could not understand why with shower only when there was plenty of room for a bath.

There is a mini bar in the room with a few beers, a small bottle of red wine and some non alcoholic cool drinks. This is offered free of charge.

Good breakfast (enjoyed the apple pie) but the best part was the restaurant just across the parking square at the First Hotel- very friendly helpful staff, menu with something for all tastes and the best gourmet hamburgers we have ever eaten.
