I've stayed on business quite a few times in Kolding, which is a nice town. However this Scandic Kolding is really far from an inviting place. Most of the rooms are from 80's, worn off, narrow bad quality beds. Shower starts to smell bad after taking a hot shower. They have updated half of their rooms so remember to ask for a new room once you check in - difference is like with day and night - new rooms are of standard Scandic level.

The surroundings is simply uninviting - 300 m meters from highway (no noise problem tough) with nothing in proximity. The Kolding town is 5 km away and is nice area so stay there if you have a choice - price is same level. In the hotel you have a restaurant with no decent food and a bar, tiny fittness center in the basement and thats it

I've stayed in many Kolding hotels - Koldingfjord is clearly the best - it's just that Scandic is 200 meters away from the office i visit - i only choose this for location - nothing else.

For families Legoland is 30 km away but since you would anyhow need to drive for half an hour why not picking a place which you enjoy staying at - here you only do it for the low cost - if even that

I am a frequent guest at Scandic hotels in Scandinavia (10-15 nights per year) - and I have to say this is without doubt the poorest experience so far.

From the outside it looks like an ordinary business hotel - conveniently close to the high way. But I was very disappointed... The style of interior is of another time age (let's say the 80's) - and it was VERY worn down. Laquer missing on all surfaces on the wood interior - bathroom with loads of scale - rusty scale in the corners of the shower.

In almost every way possible NOT what I expect from a Scandic hotel - which usually is a somewhat boring - but always nice and large - room, super clean, good shower and good beds.

Breakfast was up to Scandic standard - which is about the only positive thing I have to say.

Very disappointed. For my next trip to that area I will surely choose another hotel...

It is outside city centre, but not too far, in a quiet area.
It has a playing room which is ok, but what deserve a quick refresh is the room: old and the beds were not made with care .
I asked 3 times a different internet account code before have one not expired.
Breakfast was very good.
It isn't expensive.

Nice enough hotel, but very utility, think of travel lodge from ikea , it was quite away from kolding so you need a taxi or car. ideal for business or people on a budget. staff very friendly and free internet if required. They had a bar called pub which was cosy but expensive.
