If you have always secretly wanted to take a shower while sitting on the toilet seat, this hotel may well be for you. Strangely for a non-smoking section of a hotel, I had to keep the windows open to get the tobacco smoke away or it would have been a little like sleeping with my head in an ashtray. Seagulls woke me up early. Breakfast was fairly good and one can't really complain about parking facilities considering that the hotel is right in the town centre and pedestrian shopping area - apparently the widest shopping street in the country, if the taxi driver was telling the truth. The staff members were helpful and professional. Room was clean. The lobby, stairs and corridors look very attractive and have armchairs. Not all that nice if fellow guests camp down outside your door, but otherwise nice. The rooms was not great but the value was probably okay, considering the historical interest and central location. I did not enjoy the smoke and the cramped bathroom, and there was noise from the stairs and corridors as in most city centre hotels.
