Nice feeling of contemporary luxury. Need a cab to go anywhere but we had a great cab driver who spoke wonderful English and was as good as a tour guide. He was Mario and can be reached at Taxis Unitax Tel 02-725.25.25 We took a wonderful trolley ride through the city and through the forest to the Museum of Central Africa. Funky old place but beautiful grounds and the trolley ride was a wonderful experience for these Americans. Trolley the highlight of our 24 hour stay.

We were supposed to leave the hotel on the 28th of August, to fly to USA, but because of the hurricane Irena our aircompany changed the tickets for earlier dates. So before our arrival to the hotel we tryed to contact it and change our booking for one day less. It was hard to get through, and when we finally did, they hang up. Other attemps were unsuccessfull too. Upon arrival to the hotel we informed the girl at the reseption about our calls and that we are leaving earlier. She informed the manager, who the next day told us she will contact booking.com and solve this problem, so that we get the money back. Few days after we called to booking.com ourselves, they haven't heard anything from the hotel and they tryed to call them themselves, but guess what didn't get through either. Couple days of attemps didn't give any results. We gave up. One night payment is not so much, but still very annoying it happened like that. Very unprofessional of them.

Btw, transportation to/from the airport is free, BUT first we had to call the hotel to order their bus to the airport and then waited for about 50 min!!! though it was much easier getting TO airport - bus was always standing beside the hotel entrance.

But we had to switch rooms later in the night because of strange noises coming out of the bathroom. We had to make up our own beds. There was not any staff to do that. Huh? Driver was half hour late picking us up to go to the airport. For the rest okay.

We stayed at this hotel to fly out early in the morning of the following day. Room was spacious for an European hotel, and bed was not large but a good size and comfy. (my hubby is 6'3" and he did not complain.) We loved the white bed linen. Lady at the front desk was not very friendly and she gave us a non-smoking room on the first floor, which stinked cigarette, so we had to request to change our room. They don't have an elevator and going up to the upper floor with heavy suitcases was a challenge, but besides that, our stay at the hotel was overall comfortable. There's no stores or restaurants nearby and as many said, the hotel restaurant is ridiculously expensive, so we recommend taking the hotel shuttle to airport, hop on a train and get off at the Central which was the 2nd stop (ticket was $5.40 one way) and eat at Grand Place. Room was modern and clean but I did not care for the carpet for some reason.. besides, shuttle service was on time and the staff was courtuous. We heard people walking on the floor outside of our room but it was not too noisy. Bath tub was big and had a rain shower, which was hard to adjust the water temperature. I'd say, if you're not choosing a hotel to stay long for a vacation, this is a good hotel. If we ever come back to Brussels, we do not mind staying here again.
