Stayed in Hotel Hintermoos with a group of friends for a skiing holiday in January 2008. It is a nice family run hotel with good sized rooms with excellent views all around. The owner and the rest of the staff were very friendly and helpful (most speak fluent English - my German is very bad!).
We paid for half-board and the meals in the evening were good. The menu is usually soup, then salad, then a choice of 2 main courses and 2 desserts. Breakfast in the morning is continental, although there is a good selection.
NB The location is different to that marked on the TripAdvisor map - it is actually in the village of Hintermoos, about 2-3km SE of Maria Alm (marked Backwinkl on map). For skiing it is an excellent location, at the top of lift 13 (see piste map). You can easily ski down to the bottom of lift 6 - then you have access to all the 'Aberg' slopes.
