Superb location, excellent staff and owners who are dedicated and passionate about ensuring your holiday is perfect. The food is gorgeous and a huge, warm welcome is always made. The bedrooms are delightful and spotlessly clean. Nothing is too much of a problem. Alex & Oliver (the owners) are the perfect hosts.

well where do I start! Ive just returned home from staying at Haus Salzburg for a week break away. Alex, Oliver, Max and woody were fantastic, nothing was a problem for them! I would recommended to anyone to stay here.

My wife and I took a trip to hintertal back in march, we never actually stayed in haus salzberg as we were in a timeshare nearby, that said we were made by Alex and Oliver to feel more than welcome. The bar food was fantastic and we were also offered the opportunity of having the same meal as the guests for a very reasonable price. Inside the bar area has a nice cosy feel. This place knocks spots off France for value for money, Alex and Oliver are pretty special hosts and ther's a brand new six seated bubble chair in town to get your ski day of to a flyer.

We were a little unsure whether the new owners would maintain the standards of their predecessors but we need not have worried. Alex and Oliver had recently taken over Chalet Haus Salzburg when we arrived. Did you see sky 1 ‘A Dream Life’ aired on Feb 9th, whilst we were there, featuring them relocating from Bristol to Hinterthal ?
They are a very friendly and personable couple who made us very welcome, the perfect hosts, complementing each other with Alex doing the morning shift whilst Oliver running the bar in the evening. They made us feel at home, with complimentary tea making facilities in the room, a buffet style breakfast with a hot option, afternoon tea and scrummie cakes and a superb 3 course meal in the evening. There is a pool table and games room in the cellar perfect for older children and an area with bean bags and DVD’s for the younger kids to watch a movie or two. A well stocked bar means there is no need to venture out in the evening as there is limited night life in the village, although once a week a local band plays in the Alm bar.
The skiing is limited if you are a beginner, as it’s mainly a resort of red runs with the few blues accessed via ski bus (stop outside hotel), but perfect for the intermediate skier. 85% of resort has snow making and the lift pass covers Ski Amande, so if you drive, there is potentially a huge ski area. The lift pass contains a unique number that you can access online, it records the number of lifts and elevation skied for its duration. The slopes are quiet and queues non existent and once the only bottleneck and horrible T bar disappear in 2011/2012 with the planned replacement lifts in Dienten it will be a fantastic resort.
Nearby Maria Alm is a very pretty village with a few shops and more nightlife and well worth a visit.
We would certainly recommend this Chalet and resort and it is one of Austria’s best kept secrets, but maybe not for much longer.
