“Excellent in every aspect”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 February 2012

Stayed 1 night for family birthday. Rooms on the second floor are beautiful, all recently renovated with ultra modern bathrooms, huge flat screen TV, fluffy towels, crisp white cotton bedding and the most comfortable, enormous bed EVER. The view was of an old disused industrial building which had its own unique charm and did not offend the eye in the least. Reception staff were very helpful and the hotel is spotlessly clean and well maintained. I would definitely recommend it and would not hesitate to stay again.

Room Tip: Odd number rooms on the second floor have a lovely view of the quirky industrial building!!!!

“Fantastic Value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 January 2012

I have stayed at this hotel on four occasions and it has been recently refurbished. The rooms are large and the newly refurbished bathrooms are first class. The best features are the reception staff; room servicing is excellent; the breakfasts are unlimited and plenty of free parking.
If you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel in the Liverpool area for Grand national week, this can't be beat. I've never tried the leisure centre but it seem popular with local celebs>

Room Tip: Newly refurbished rooms are best

“Swimming facilities”

I am a member of the Leisure clunb for both myself and young 5 yr old foster son. For the last two month period, both the pool and hot tub heating system has been broken!
Despite several complaints to staff and the completion of a 'complint form' - there has been no response!
Staff are polite and sympathetic, although seem to have no resolution in place. I have been told that the owners feel that there is not a problem at all!!!
I, along with several other memebers are moving to other leisure clubs now. if I was a 'family holiday maker' I would be most disapointed with the lack of this essential family facility.

“Improving with renovation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 January 2012

The staff are very friendly and helpful.
The restaurant could do with refurbishing, but it serves good food at a very reasonable price, Breakfast is a bit expensive at £10 a head.
The swimming pool is great and open from early (6.30 am) to late (10 pm) on weekdays.
The renovated rooms on the second floor are very comfortable, with king size beds and fluffy white towels.
It is in the town centre, but the dual carriage way outside means going round the roundabout.
The three-day deal is good value for money.

Room Tip: Second floor rooms are now renovated and very comfortable

“Comfortable but expected more”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2012

I 'd just like to say first of all that I do live in St Helens and have stayed in this hotel once the night before my wedding on my own and with my new husband after the wedding. It was a last minute thing the night before (husband and I had "executive suite" booked months prior), literally just going to reception and luckily they had a room. As i live in St Helens i knew that prior to it being the Park Inn it used to be a Hilton Hotel so i was expecting it to be quite good.Reception was really nice in finding me a room a couple of doors down from where my bridal party were staying at such short notice. The rooms weren't amazingly modern (in 2010) but surprisingly comfortable. As it was a one night stay we didnt eat at the hotel we actually relied on going to Tesco which used to be next door to the hotel but has recently closed. As i mentioned above we did book a so called executive room for our first night as Mr and Mrs but i honestly couldnt tell the difference between the normal room i stayed in the night before or the so called executive suite.

As Park Inn is the only town centre hotel we have in St Helens, it's not too bad and i've heard reports that it is being renovated. The more modern hotels in St Helens are Premier Inn (East and South), Ramada Encore which is a fairly new hotel only built a few years back. The Thistle is one of my favourite hotels, my father and i had to live their when we had a fire at our house.

As someone born and bred in St Helens i hope this review helps :)
