“Would not go back.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 October 2011

I stayed with family at this lodge for a few days. I think this lodge would be best for one night only. Make sure you ask for a "do not disturb" sign for your door because it's not provided in the room. The cleaning ladies knock once and just walk in, every morning at 8:30am! So after my first night, I asked for one of those signs and they actually had to go searching for them because they didn't keep them handy at the front. I luckily did get one later that day and the cleaners did not come in anymore - however, they did enter our families other rooms every day we were there. They literally saw us in bed and ran out of the room.

Regarding cleanliness, it was good but not excellent.

Staff at the reception were friendly.

I do not recommend the Bar and Grill that is next door - high prices for very mediocre food and the staff are not very friendly.

This lodge was too expensive in my opinion, for what you get.

Beds are comfortable, though! Which is great!

Room Tip: Get a room that does NOT face the bar and grill that is across from the reception area. There is a c...

“Awful.”

Stayed here for one night and that was far too long. The room just felt dirty and very basic, let alone the price they were charging for it. The duvet was thin and it was not a nice place to rest your head. My partner even refused to shower because the bathroom was so horrible. Cobham is a lovely town with some very well-off neighbours......how this place survives in this area, I just don't know. Luckily for us, we found a much nicer place just down the road in Ripley so we'll never have to do the Cobham Lodge again!

“OK hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 September 2011

This hotel is a reasonable hotel, not a bad price for the area and clean with a free car park. The most notable thing was the water pressure in the shower, it was lovely!
I would be worried if I was there in the depth of the winter as only a thin duvet was provided.
Overall happy as part of a business trip but wouldn't be using it for a short break away.

“No frills hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 September 2011

The Cobham Lodge is a basic, no frills hotel. There are no facilities such as bar or restaurant so it's really only somewhere to sleep and shower. The rooms are a reasonable size, well furnished and clean. Nothing special but OK as a stopover or on a business trip, as long as you've got dinner plans elsewhere. There is a restaurant next to the hotel, so you can always go there.

“Only suitable if you need a triple room”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 August 2011

We enjoyed:
The free car park in front of the hotel. The free WIFI access. The nice town centre with supermarket WAITROSE accessible on foot. The large (triple) room.

We disliked:
The ageing hotel with old pieces of furniture and worn bed linens.
The small bathroom is renovated but the water of the washbasin does not mix. Water is either too hot or too cold.
The curtain of shower does not prevent water projections.Room is not very clean and gardening around the hotel is not done properly.
There is no breakfast facilities in the hotel and guests have to go and take breakfast in a restaurant located at the other end of the hotel car park..
