My partner and I stayed here the last weekend in January. When we arrived we were told that a request for upgrade had been done so we should have been given upgrade of de-luxe. The room was ok - bed very small - hardly a double. There were no slippers, wine, chocolates as promised with this type of room. I rang reception and soon after a bottle of wine, some fruit, slippers and another dressing gown were bought to the room. We went to dinner - 3 courses for £19.95 - bottle of white wine £18. The food was good and the staff polite and friendly but the restaurant was cold - take a jacket. Back in the room we tried to put the heating on but all it seemed to be doing was blowing out cold air. Also the flush on the toilet broke. Another call to reception and the duty manager arrived minutes later to try and sort out the problems. He announced that we would have to move to another room. So we packed up and moved to a "better room" up one flight of stairs. An oil filled radiator was in the room and the heating worked. We had a great bathroom with a shower and bath and a huge bed. Breakfast was usual Hilton buffet style with lots of choice and was very good. We were going to have a swim at lunchtime but when we got to pool there was an aquarobics class on so we had to go back an hour later. The pool was nice as were the steam room and sauna. Our room had been cleaned but no water, wine, chocolates. Another call to reception and wine and water were delivered soon after. Dinner on the Saturday was buffet style - good idea - lots of choice and better for my partner who is vegetarian. All in all we had a good stay and all the problems were rectified quickly but I dont think you should have to be ringing reception for things that should have already been in the room. And I never did get any chocolates!!!
