I wonder if some of the other reviewers actually stayed at this hotel? This was my third visit in the last two months, and every time I have had an exceptional stay. Sure the rates are high, but so is everything in Switzerland. Compared to other hotels in Zurich, the Hilton is not expensive at all.
The staff are top-notch. So many of them offer a genuine greeting and detailed answers to questions that it is clear that having capable and friendly employees is a priority for this hotel. By my third visit many of them were routinely addressing me by name, and all were willing to go the extra distance to ensure my needs were met or exceeded. Recommendations for nearby restaurants were spot-on, providing above-anticipated experiences while paying attention to my requests regarding ambience, quality, and price.
The rooms I have had were all large, with incredibly comfortable beds and fine linens. To be noted: the towels were plush and soft, possibly the softest I have ever had at a hotel. The rooms had large desks and US and European as well as Swiss sockets for charging computers, phones, etc. The bathroom was large with tub and shower, lots of hot water and ample shower pressure (not necessarily true everywhere in Europe) and was bright and spotlessly clean.
The restaurant served a massive selection of items with its buffet breakfast - all top quality and quite delicious. For those with Executive Rooms, the Executive Lounge is a tranquil oasis. Considering food is available for breakfast, afternoon dessert, and early evening appetizers, with coffe and light drinks available all day, and wine, beer and cocktails in the evening, it is well worth it if you are inclined to take advantage of the Lounge.
Out side the hotel, there is a Jogging Track that immediately leads into a more rural area, going past some farmland and eventually into a nearby forest. Ideal for 5 km to 10 km runs in a rural setting (and astonishing considering the hotel is otherwise in a city setting).
As an airport hotel, there are the usual flight crews and people looking for only one night either because their flight was cancelled, or because they need a rest between flights. Maybe these people do not experience the gracious hospitality that I did due to their short stays, but I can assuredly state that the staff is welcoming and made me feel as though I was staying at a quaint country inn rather than a busy airport hotel.
I consider this to be a far above average experience, and will definitely return again.
Room Tip: Ask for the slightly larger than average rooms. There are only a few of these wedge-shaped rooms, b...
