“Excelent Value for Money Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 December 2010

Just had a couple of nights here in December, its a little gem of a hotel .
I booked through an online engine and got three nights for £24 bed and breakfast, so wasnt expecting anything !
I was plesently suprised, yes the room was bascci, but had a nice comfy double bed, crisp clean sheets, double wardrobe and, safe, writing desk and nice size bathroom, no balcony, but ffor the price I paid, I was suprised I got a window !!!!!
The staff were really freindly, even when I staggered back in at 3.30 am from the Karaoke bar with a shirt full of Pizza !!!!!
I would definaately stop here again and recommend to anyone travleing on a budget, as its central to all the night life and just off the main square
A great time had

“Great localtion & value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 November 2010

Anybody looking for a budget two star hotel in St Julians this property is great value and centrally located within 5 minutes walk of Paceville & also within walking distance of an abudance of all types of restaurants to suit all pockets.

The hotel is is staffed by family members who go out of there way to look after you and nothing is to much trouble with getting Information & directions our contact thru the week was Miriam who went out of her way to help & was always smiling.

Rooms are basic clean & tidy & although we booked a basic double we could have upgraded for 10.00 Euro per night for a bigger room with balcony & fridge but to be honest this is now winter in Malta & maybe an option in the high season.

We booked our room thru Travel Republic & managed to get a double room with facilities including breakfast for 140.00 Euros for both of us for the week,
Please bear in mind If your only looking for somewhere to lay the head or shower
this place has the goods on offer.

“Basic but in a nice location, friendly service, close to transport”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 November 2010

For 13€ a night, how could one complain? By booking at this hotel, one knows that it will be basic. The room, a standard room, was large but basic, with a safe, 2 beds, a desk, 2 fans (in November I found no need for a/c), and an ensuite. Sleeping with the fans on blocked out the noise from outside, it was comfortable and very close to the transport hub to catch any bus to the city, as well as a bus (#65) direct to Mdina. The hotel has free WiFi on every floor, my room was cleaned daily, and breakfast was comprehensive - 2 types of cereal, toast, cake, hard boiled eggs, salami, ham, cheese, coffee, tea, juice. I will stay here again, but remember, it is basic accomodation, don't expect marble and room service - it is simply a great place to retire of a night, after having explored the island. The staff are very friendly and helpful.

“Very Disappointed”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 October 2010

I was Very Disappointed with this hotel and checked out early.
On the positive note. The Staff were very good.
I specifically stated that I needed internet (hence the reason for booking it)
The internet was always down. I had one day/night out of 5 that the internet worked, then it was so slow it was not worth bothering with.
The hotel room was without mini bar and air con. (not that I needed air con in Oct)
You couldn't swing a cat in the room.
I had to park all over the St Julians (if I was lucky) as there was no parking facilities with the hotel.
I paid 32.4 euros a night upfront. I checked out early and booked a room at the Santana Hotel in Bugibbar 4 star for 25 euros a night. what a difference.
I would have been hard justified paying 10 euros a night at this time of year for the Alfonso let alone 32 euros.

“Great location but opt for the superior rooms!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 October 2010

We spent 5 nights here in March and after a rocky start we really enojoyed our stay!! We found it a little difficult to find at first and the reception area is quite small and dark. We got checked into standard room of which we'd booked a double and were disappointed to find a triple room which resembled a prison cell! The walls were bare, the beds small and uncomfortable and the bathroom tiny and in desparate need of a makeover! It is the first time we have entered a hotel room and thought we cannot stay here! We went to reception and asked if there were any superior rooms available and thankfully there was and I think it was €10 per night extra so well worth it. the room we were given had a double bed, fridge and nice bathroom. It also had a lovely view of Spinola Bay, much better..It was on the sixth floor so waiting on the lift was a problem at times but not a big deal.
Breakfast was basic and included pastries, toast cheese and ham I think - fine for the price.
Location wise it is perfect, A few minutes walk from the centre of Paceville and 1 minute from the bus station, Spinola bay is 2 minutes walk and there are loads of nice restaurants close by.
I would return here but only to a superior room as I feel the standard rooms could definitely do with a revamp.
