We stayed for a week at the Hotel Juliani (B&B basis) in a junior suite overlooking Spinola Bay. Everything from the taxi transfer from the airport to when we checked out was excellent. The staff were very helpful and friendly and clearly enjoy working there.
Our suite had plenty of space and was clean, modern and stylish just like the website photos. To be picky, if we had to be, would be that our balcony (5th floor) was not as big as the others and it was a little squeeze for the table and 2 chairs but it was perfectly adequate to enjoy watching over the bay.
The hotel is located on the main road which runs through the resort so is perfectly located for getting around the around. There is a main bus stop outside which takes you where-ever you want to go. The buses are very cheap (a few euros a day) and fairly frequent with air conditioning. We got the bus to Valletta (the capital city) twice and to a few other locations and found it very easy. Tip if you go to Valletta, we visited on a Sunday and mid-week and Sunday was very quiet and a very different experience, so you may want to consider this. Opposite the hotel is also the bus stop for the sight-seeing bus which tours around the island which we also did.
The hotel provides free wi-fi which works very well in the public areas and most of the time was fine in our room although when we were on the balcony we found it easier to use the free wi-fi from a bar accross the road.
The hotel is perfectly located for eating out with plenty of very good restaurants within a few minutes walk. Bianco's literally 2 doors away was really good with excellent service and we also ate in Peppinos twice which is about 4 doors away from the hotel and had an excellent menu and outstanding service.
Back to the hotel facilities, breakfast is served from 7.30 (could be 7am) until 10.30am and provides a good range of what you'd expect as well as lovely freshly squeezed orange juice and the staff are really good. We had drinks in the main lobby a few evenings before we went out and the cocktails are recommended. Finally the swimming pool on the 9th floor was great for cooling hot but be warned in July the weather in Malta ia very hot so its not really the place for sun bathing all day as there isn't much shade although the views are great.
All in all a great holiday made perfect by staying at the Hotel Juliani which we would highly recommend.
