“Absolutely Vile!!!!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 September 2010

My last review of these apartment was removed for some reason!

I can honesly say that this is the worst hovel I have ever stayed in in my entire life! The room was filthy, we didn't see a cleaner for 5 days so no new towels or bedding! No shower curatin or hook to attached the shower head so showering was interesting to say the least. Forget sleeping whilst you're there as the apartment are above a nightclub which pumps out til at least 5am.

The building is the strangest building ever with lots of staircases that don't seem to lead to anywhere. The last review is so right, there is absolutely no fire safety whatsoever. I know this may sound a bit dramatic but seriously, if there happened to be a fire in that building............

We appreciate client's reviews. In our advertising we state that cleaning is once weekly, while towels and bedding is changed every 2 days or more frequently if necessary. All the private bathrooms in the apartments are fitted with full baths as well as with hand hald showers. The latter do not necessitate hooks but, when so requested by clients, these can be fitted in no time.

The apartments are in a lively area right in the centre of Malta's entertainment area with loads of bars, restaurants, wine bars, fast food shops, cinemas, bowling alleys. This is a place for holidays!

There is all the fire safety equipment not only in each apartmetn buit also in the corridors.

There are a total of two staircases in the property

“Horrible and No Fire Saftey At All, Do Not Stay Here.”

we stayed here september 09, supposed to be for a week, in a studio apartment, we moved out after 1 night. went to stay in another hotel, we had to pay again, which is not good. These apartments are Not safe, no fire saftey at all, all glass fire cabinets supposed to hold extinguishers were empty, if there was fire on stairs we would have been done for as our room at the end of corridoor, claustophobic and dull apartments, no room, have big bruises on top of my legs due to table being squashed at the end of the bed !!! room clean though, noisey area, we are reporting to the authorities there lack of fire saftey and unsympathetic manner, do not advise anybody to stay here ever.

We appreciate the client's comments which were written a year and a half ago and which comments the client wrote after staying for only 1 night. The apartments are safe, and there is all the fire safety equipment necessary. The fire extinguishers were not there because they were being serviced. If the client went back the same day he/she would have found the fire extinguishers back there. We do not understand the client's comment about the apartment being claustrophobic and dull when these same apartments have 3 metre wide balcony doors in SUNNY Malta. Over 5,000 tourists from all over Europe stay in these apartments every year. A very high percentage of them are repeat visitors as they realise how central and convenient a location is being offered at such a low, low price.

“Great for insomniacs!”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 September 2009

These apartments are great if you are young and want to stay out all night, run around the corridors all day slamming doors, moving furniture and banging on the floors and walls and shouting to others down the corridors, whether it is day or night. They are dreadful if you are a 30/40/50 something who would like to have a relaxing, quiet and restful stay away and want to be able to sleep at night.

Unfortunately, the latter applied to my partner and I and, for us, the holiday turned out to a nightmare and a holiday from hell!

When we got there we asked the attendant if we could have a room which was away from any noise, but we were told that we should either get earplugs or get drunk and pass out if we wanted to get some sleep.

It was a nightmare from the first night. The apartments are on 4 storeys, situated over clubs and bars which start belting out excessively loud music with deep bass from 10pm. This continued till dawn!! At which point, the workmen arrived and started with their noise, with drills and the like, on the adjacent worksite.

The apartments were large but the floor was dirty and was not cleaned the whole time were there. One of the wardrobes was broken (see pictures) and the shower had no hook on the wall for it and there was no shower curtain (see pictures). Theres no TV and the room had no air con but did have a ceiling fan, which was totally ineffectual; especially as it was very hot at night. There is a safe in the room, but it was broken. There were cigarette butts in the corridor outside the room, on the day that we arrived and the same butts were still there on the day that we left (see pictures). The view from the room wasn't anything to write home about either. We were facing a dilapidated building, the building site was to the left and there was a view down the road to the right (see pictures).

In all, this is the most basic of basic accommodation in a poor location and I cannot recommend these apartments for anyone who would like a decent, relaxing holiday.

“Great For 18 Year Olds!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 July 2009

Stayed there this year in june, once arrived our apratment had no lock to the front door of our apratment, no working hot water and looking on to building site!! we ended up staying at stgeorges that night, next morning went back to the apartment and found a maid/manger (the only worker there) she then upgraded us to the new part of the apartments, was very pleased, as all newly fitted bathroom kitchen and bedrooms, over looking the bars, shown on picture. theres no way of sleeping so party all night long =) and drink as much as you can as buy one get one free!!! plus poll dancing and bar dancing!! little supermarket down the road all you need plus holiday shops near by all walking distance. bus stops also near by and really cheap (sandy beaches about 30minutes away) we used the st Georges swimming pools which were lovely! overall if your young and like to party this is the place for you...
(just make sure you have a upgraded apartment or your hate it!!

“I've stayed in a LOT LOT WORSE for A LOT LOT MORE!!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 May 2009

I've seen studio flats in London in worse condition, I've stayed in 4* hotels with smaller and poorer bathrooms and my sister's £500k flat in central London is noisier!
Honestly I don't know what people are complaining about! The bathroom was a revelation...tiled to perfection and super-clean, I could have eaten off the floor of it.
The room has basic furniture & fittings but what do you expect?!
Cleaner came in every day and changed our towels (actually she just gave us new ones), swept the floor and cleaned the bathroom. High ceilings meant room was cool (altough we went in May) and fan was powerful enough to ventilate in a matter of minutes.
Bad points: very noisy on friday night, view of internal building (under development), no reception, poor water pressure.

Just bring ear plugs and you'll be fine....for anyone that needs any cleaning/queries I sneakily found out that the reception is ROOM 406!

Honestly I think hotels in that part of St.Julians are going to be very pot luck as it's in the middle of the Maltese "SOHO" so you may find yourself in hotels like the one down the road....4* overlooking a massive building site and near the bars & pubs...so you would get the same view, same noise only to be charged 10x more!
