My husband and I needed a short break for our mini-honeymoon at the end of June. We stayed at the Marina Hotel for 3 nights and enjoyed every minute of it.
Before we arrived, I emailed the hotel to inquire what types of sea view rooms they had. I emailed back and forth with Robert to discuss various options. The communication was fantastic. I was also worried as we were arriving before the regular check in time and was assured that they could hold our luggage.
Well, upon arrival, I was even more assured that we would be more than pleased with the room we were allocated. And let me tell you, we were! We were upgraded to a suite room, a spectacularly big room with 2 balconies, one for morning sun and one for afternoon, with a sitting room and a huge bathroom. We were more than impressed and grateful when we arrived. Our room was decorated with red rose petals and looked beautiful!
The front desk, including Stephen, were more than helpful giving us directions to Mdina (old walled city) and Valletta as well. Well, while we were out exploring Mdina, they were preparing the champagne in our room for our arrival. Again, we were impressed! The time and care that they took was hugely appreciated by us and we were made to feel more than special.
The hotel is extremely central, close to restaurants and shopping as well as bus transport routes. The hotel also runs a shuttle to Valletta, but make sure to get in line early, so we were warned. We took a bus back to the hotel area.
As well, as an added bonus, the hotel also shares the pool area with the Corinthia St. George's which is a beautiful 5*, literally situated a 2 min walk through the hotel.
The breakfast was more than we could have asked for, just be sure to go all in when sitting outside for breakfast. It got pretty hot!
As a side, Paceville is one of the most ridiculous places on Earth! One needs to experience it just for a laugh! We found it extremely tacky, but found a few other nicer areas with classier bars.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a fantastic hotel in the St. Julian's/St. George's Bay Area.
