We stayed in one of the rooms that had a corner balcony so we had loads of room on the balcony and sunbeds too which was a nice touch. The room itself was a big let down - basically it was dirty - there were greasy handmarks all over furniture, wardrobes, patio doors and even the TV! I understand that "suncream hands" cause these marks, but when they have been left by previous occupants its really off putting. We telephoned housekeeping who said that the room would be given a deep clean which did improve the room (but not to a 5 star standard) and were offered a complimentary meal. We thought that was the end of it until we heard a knock on the door and found the maid who was responsible for cleaning our room asking why we had complained! We told her about all the problems when we first arrived but I refused to discuss further as I felt it was not appropriate - I notified reception but did not hear anything further. The hotel facilities were ok, food ok, service good - but the location is excellent with lovely views and a little bit away from the hustle and bustle of St Julians. The walk to St Julians is down a steepish hill (but not a problem for most people) and it is quite easy to find nice bars and restaurants (but there are LOTS of teenagers in the centre). We would go back to St Julians again but not this hotel.

Stayed for a few nights late January, hotel was busy with big travel groups and a conference. Nonetheless had secured an excellent B&B rate. I found the staff to be of the best calibre for a European hotel, a far cry of what e.g. one often has to endure in the UK. I had my room changed without problems when not entirely happy with the location of the first, and the staff in the bar made you feel very welcome. POSITIVES: Great staff, water location (listening to the waves to go to sleep is just great), fitness suite & pools, checkout as available until 6pm(!). NEGATIVES: We found the deserts in the bistro to be of little interesting flavour (breakfast also lacked the wow factor of a 5star hotel), parts of the hotel may be a bit worn, especially the bathrooms.

I didn't mind the location, it's about a 5-10mins walk to a buzzing going out area, and a bus stop is nearby. The airport bus also stops roughly a 15mins walk away. The hotel also seems to offer a shuttle to various towns, but we didn't make use of that. The roadworks mentioned by some other posters are now largely completed and weren't really an issue now.

We stayed at this hotel for a week in January 2012. The weather was cold & we needed a scarf but the hotel more than made up for it. The staff were so friendly & could not do enough for us. The concerge victor was brilliant from his helpful manner to interest facts about the region.

We spent 3 night at this hotel and we really enjoyed it . Reception staff is very helpful . Actually one of the reception staff, Aaron was his name if I remember correctly, gave us the rates and we decided to book there.
Restaurant staff is great aswell. Theo who usually works at the bar is a great barman and funny in a good way. The only downfall for Breakfast was that sometimes when we went to have breakfast a little bit later, the Water jug that they give you on the table for tea was luke warm instead of boiling water .
Hotel is very clean and the ambience is welcoming and warm .
