I have stayed at this hotel very recently, and have to say I am thoroughly disgusted with the hotel.
Not only is our room filthy and unkept, with shoddy (if any) maintenance done to the interior, the entire facility is run down, dated, and most of all very dirty.
I have a very hard time with the price being 170.00 euros per night, seeing how the cleaning staff only come in every 3-4 days, and the state of the rooms and the building are very poor. I have lived in Europe for 3 years now, and we travel at least once a month, and this is by far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.
I had to clean the room from top to bottom prior to moving in, rewashed all the of the linen, and even bought a new duvet and pillow. The blankets are tatty and unclean, the undersheets were covered in hair, and the bathroom hadn't seen a good clean of the floors, tiles or moldings in I am sure months, if not years.
The kitchen counter was still covered in crumbs, goop and old food caked in the fridge, and the dishes dirty and put back in the cupboard.
There is flaking paint on the ceilings and walls, unfinished parquet floors, and missing interior windows.
I have put the 'do not disturb' sign on the door, as I do not trust the cleaners to come in and clean over the work I have already done.
The decor is something to be desired, but that is besides the point. I have no problem with the hotel being dated, but a clean hotel is the very LEAST you could give to your guests.
I am not a spoiled traveler, and have stayed in 2, 3 and 4 star hotels before, and this is NOT A 4 STAR HOTEL!
My best recommendation is to find a nice villa to stay at instead, and avoid this hotel. If I had a choice (refund, location, etc.) we would have checked out immediately, but if we can save even one traveler the waste of money by booking at this hotel, it will be worth it.
I will be following up this review with a letter and photos to the HMC Hotel group.
