“A Ok Hotel but accessibility needs more thinking about”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

We stayed at this hotel for a one night break and I can say that the grounds are great, but could not find the disabled parking when asked staff were not sure which helped. On coming inbto the hotel the reception area was all wooden and looked great but from a disability point of view was useless. I found that as we headed to the disabled room that a lot of the areas to get out onto the back areas were not accessible as they all had steps and when i asked staff they seam to get the rabbit in the head lights look as if i was going to shout at them if i could not get out. The disabled room was not that disabled no wet room (was not offered) and the bathroom was not that big. The bedroom was ok but again they have not thought about layout in the room i think you need to take more time when looking at disablilty things like the bedroom door was really heavy. That evening we were going for dinner and it seamed a party was going on and they seam to have a hall confernce room which was up stairs and saw the staff carrying a lady in a wheelchair up there she looked scared!!!!! if it had been an electric chair what would they of done.

I found the restaurant to be pleasent but again access was a nightmare i nearly took out a number of tables. So all in all unless you are a fit or abient disabled person do not go near this hotel!!

“Good hotel in convenient location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 February 2012

Have stayed here many times on business. A staple Marriott hotel, conveniently located north of London and close by the rail line into Liverpool street. Will be very handy for the Olympics being 10miles up the Lee Valley.
A good 3-4 star hotel, adequate gym/pool. Cuisine is good, restaurant a little close to lobby and bar areas but if its compact and convenience you are after this one is for you. The hotel is handy for the Cheshunt shopping complex just 1/4 mile away, if that's your bag!

Room Tip: Go for a room on the second floor, away from the lobby/elevator areas.

Very friendly staff, bedroom facilities excellent, and good food. evening dinner slightly expensive but superb. Only criticism is why the need to charge for overnight parking at £3.00.

“Adequate, but definitely not 4*”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 30 January 2012

I stayed here Saturday evening with my sister, because we were visiting friends in the area. First of all, I wa shocked to have to pay £3 to park in a hotel car park when I am staying there. Fair enough, there is a shopping centre nearby and, obviously this is to deter shoppers parking there. However, I feel, we should have been refunded the parking fee when we checked out, as we were clearly hotel guests, and not shoppers. Regarding the hotel, I would not class this as a 4* hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful, but the room, described as a deluxe, was not. It certainly was not very spacious, although on the plus side, it was clean. We were disappointed with the bathroom, which was quite dingy looking. The tea and coffee making facilities left much to be desired. We only drink decaffeinated coffee, and there were only two sachets of that, with one packet ot biscuits between us! We had a meal in the dining room Saturday evening, which was ok, if a little pricey. Also disappointed that they didn't have the wine we ordered. Breakfast was more than up to expectations though. I certainly would not want to spend more than one night in this hotel.

“Nice hotel, but could do better.”

Stayed here for a 1 night break to go to a wedding. The hotel is easy to find, clean and has some great staff, all of who seemed to be very friendly and a good sized swimming pool which is always a bonus. There were some little things that could do with looking at however such as having to pay £3 for overnight parking even when you're a hotel guest., being offered a morning paper and then being advised that there would be a 50% delivery charge and no free wi fi in the rooms, which is one of my personal hates and no bottles of water in the room. Back to the possitives though and the room was a great size, I had room 132 which was a garden view with a balcony. It had a really comfy bed and superb pillows, iron and ironing board waiting for me and a good powerful shower. Rooms will be due a facelift soon though as some of the furnishings are coming towards to end of their shelf life. All in all a good standard of hotel which, with a little tweaking would merit a better rating, but I would stay here again.
