The hotel is located in the centre of Sandefjord within easy walking distance to most city centre shops and attractions.
I stayed in room 251 which I was told was a deluxe room. It was a fairly large room with a large double bed, a seating area with two easy chairs and a coffee table, a TV and an office desk with a music centre where you can connect your MP3 player.
The bathroom is also quite large and had a shower cubicle, a toilet, a sink and a large mirror. There is no bathtub.
To get power to the wall sockets and thigns like that you need to insert your plastic card key into a holder. I guess this is not so unusual, but a little bit of an inconvenience if you are plannning to leave the room for a few minutes and want to leave your phone or laptop on charge.
The bed was comfortable and the room and the bathroom was in good repair and clean. The only negative was that there was a large fold-away bed stashed in a corner near the entrance to the room. It would have been much better if this had been stored somewhere else and just made available if requested.
The hotel has free Wi-Fi which I found to work quite well. Simply ask for the access code at the front desk, power up your laptop, connect to the Telenor network, select "Conference" and then enter the code. Easy enough once you know what you are looking for but when I tried to connect I found there were several networks in range and the sheet I had been given gave no details of which network you had to connect to, Once connected you have to complete the log on by starting your browser. This will bring up the Telenor log on page, At first you get the impression that you have come to the wrong place as it asks for not just an access code but also a user name, but once you locate the correct menu option in the selection box (Conference) it comes up with another page where it simply asks for the access code.
Another good thing about this hotel was that they not only include breakfast in their rate, but also some snacks during the day and a light evening meal. The evening meal is not a full blown dinner but more than adequate if you just want a light meal.
There is a bar in the basement of the hotel. The bar is divided between a hotel and public part. The hotel part was dead, while the public part was quite lively.
All in all a very pleasant place to stay. The only thing dragging it down was a relatively high price, but this seems to have been caused by a combination of having to stay in a more expensive room and the fact that it was on a busy night anyway. The prices seem to vary quite a lot depending on how busy they are. I have booked a stay for another 11 nights in a few weeks time and the average price per night for that stay is about 35% lower than what I paid.
