I had booked a room at this hotel by calling the hotel directly rather than ordering online. This is because it was not possible to book a baby bed online for some reason. At first I booked a standard room but as I found that those rooms only have single beds, I sent them an email asking for a superior room instead as those have double beds which cost 200 kr more. This email was confirmed.
Arriving at the hotel, I first asked for a further upgrade as I have an upgraded Choice membership where I can get room upgrades if available. I was then told that the hotel was fully booked. Entering the room we find out that we got a standard room, so I go back to the reception with a printout of the email confirming a superior room, and suddenly they found an upgraded room, even though they previously said that the hotel was fully booked. Funny.
The superior room was a very nice and comfortable one, even though the bathroom was rather small, and the water from the shower flooded the whole bathroom.
The evening buffet was ok, but not much to choose from. The soup was good though. They were to slow in refilling the buffet, so there was a lot of empty plates there.
The fitness room had the basic gear, but I can not understand why the massage chair was not free of charge.
I sent a complaint to the hotel after coming back home telling them that I felt they were lying to me when they said that the hotel was fully booked, even though it was not. I did get an apology and a refund for the baby bed as a compensation.
I recommend this hotel for short stay overs like ours, but not for longer vacations. If you go there, put some extra money in a superior room. It is silly that they charge extra for babies.
