central hotel in the small city of larvik.
the rooms had an ok size, they are clean and mostly
up to date. at least my room was. the hotel is right next to the train station
and the main road going thru the town. pricewize i don't think they where
cheap, rather expensive, but nothing is cheap in norway i guess.
we stayed there because it was our only option..

I stayed at this hotel for one night. It is conveniently situated right opposite the bus/train station. Inside the decor is a bit tired and the lift is the old style where you open the door yourself. My room was clean and spacious with 2 beds and 2 chairs. The shower was nice and self contained - not a walk-in style. I did not have a room with a view, instead it faced away from the sea, into a parking area. I previously stayed at the Trudvang Guesthouse which I have found is a taxi ride away if you have a bit of luggage. I had an early bus to catch the next day so decided to try out this hotel for a change. I would stay at this hotel again.

This hotel has a lot going for it. It is literally opposite the train/bus station - perfect as this was how I was travelling around the area and directly across from Larvik Fjord giving it fantastic views. The staff at the hotel were very plesant and helpful in finding me bus & train times [hourly to Oslo Torp airport - 45kr]. The free buffet breakfast was also very nice with a wide choice and plenty of seating in the dining room. The only criticism I had was that the room was pretty shabby - small beds and small bathroom with toiletries only in a funny dispenser that was half hanging off the wall. Not a hotel if you don't want to be outside much but perfect if, like me, you're travelling through the area and want to stay somewhere central in Larvik with great views.
