I stayed at this hotel during a conference of Nordic Ammunition in Raufoss for three nights. The hotel had been chosen from the company hosting this event and the corporate rate for a single room was 920 Norwegian Kroner (that's about €117 or $158 with this day's rates).
It is a great hotel for business travelers, since the rooms are very comfortable, yet kind of small in size. The bed in a single room is semi-double in width. There is a small desk with payable internet access at every room and a TV system with some free Scandinavian channels (all foreign shows are subtitled, so don't worry if you speak fluent English) and a few expensive movies (not of the best quality to be accurate), if one would like to spend some time watching TV and paying for it - which by the way is not my kind of entertainment!...
Breakfast is somewhat poor in variety, but adequate when you just need some starters to be strong enough for an upcoming long day of lectures and live demonstrations. There is an American-style restaurant at the ground floor of the hotel with excellent steaks in various portions, really normal prices, an outdoor area with tables and more than friendly staff. You can only get Norwegian beer, but try it and you will not get disappointed.
The bathroom (at least my bathroom) had a shower, hot water was available all the time and all the installations seemed to be brand new.
The best thing in this hotel is the large variety of spa services given at the basement of the hotel. This treatment is really wonderful when you have to relax a while during a conference. Even though for Greek standards it sounds expensive, I think that the prices are normal: One 25 min massage costs over €50 and a full treatment with facial scrubs, aromatherapy, pool and/or massages can reach about €200. Since Gjovik does not have many choices for nightlife or something similar, the spa is definitely the best way to end your day (open till 22:00).
Oh, and something very-very important to people with sleeping difficulties: In Norway during June the sun sets at 22:45 and rises at 03:30. However, there is enough light in the sky for many hours during this "night" period. I happened to notice that the sky was actually dark only for half an hour or something. So, if you want to sleep well and light disturbs you, take my advice: First close the thick, dark curtains very well and second use an eye mask, if this doesn't annoy you more. Trust me, I don't have sleeping difficulties and still I only got two or three hours of sleep each night...
