We stayed here on our way to Western Norway. I am a Nordic Choice Club member, and this hotel is conveniently placed half-way there. :)
Our room, 301, was a nice mini-suite not facing the lake. Beds were comfortable, and so was the sofabed. Nice breakfast. Nice pianobar.

Stayed one night on a cosmos tour. Our room faced the lake but roof top of adjacent building blocked the view. Disappointing. Buffet dinner not very nice. Food over cooked and picked over appearance not attended to.

We stayed here for one night on our drive from Oslo to Geiranger. This is a very relaxing place to stay. We had a room overlooking the lake with a small balcony with chairs which was very nice. We ate our evening meal there from the buffet and it was very good. The breakfast buffet was included in the room rate. Free internet access is also included in the price. The staff in all areas were very pleasant. It was raining when we arrived but that was OK as the lobby area is very comfortable with lots of different areas to relax in. There is also an indoor swimming pool and a pool table if you wish to use them. The beds were very comfy and the bathtub is huge. There is also a small island that you can explore and there are outdoor sitting areas if it's not raining.

I made a reservation for June 4, 2011, at the Quality Hotel and Resort Fagernes, Norway. My son and his wife also had a reservation. After a full day of driving we arrived at 6:30 pm. We were told that the hotel had overbooked for the night and that they had no space. They advised that they had made provision for us at another hotel a few blocks away. When we went to the other hotel we found it to an older facility lacking in bathrooms, wireless internet, etc. and in no way comparable. While at the Quality Hotel it was apparent that a convention or conference was going on. The hotel obviously decided that this was more to their advantage than honoring a reservation made through the Nordic Choice Hotels. As a result we had to drive until 10:30 in the evening to get to Oslo as Fagernes is in a remote area.
