“Nice facade hiding awful rooms”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 December 2011

My room looked nothing like the pictures from the brochure, and it felt like stepping in to a time machine back to the early 90s. The carpet was worn out, it smelled like an old pub and didn't seem very clean, cheap quality bedding and lines, worn towels looking and feeling more like rag. We arrived at midnight and I was extremely tired, our whole group of 8 got old crappy rooms. I tried to call the front desk, but nobody answered and I was just to tired to walk down there to make a scene. Though I have to wonder how they think they can get a way with giving their guests such crappy rooms!? The internet-code I got from the reception didn't work, the only plus was that the breakfast was quite decent, and that we raided the soft-ice/frozen yogurt machine.

“Decent”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 September 2011

Stopped over here for a quiet night in Sogndal on our way to Lillehammer.

Decent lobby decked out in dark colors. Our room didn't have much of a view but were actually fairly stylish. Among the nicer rooms out here. Dinner and breakfast buffets were ok, bar had the Denmark-Norway soccer game on and was rowdy.

Overall, just ok. Nothing jumped out but nothing was terrible either. Was nice to get a quiet night's sleep though.

“Typical Quality hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 July 2011

I stayed one night at the Quality Hotel Sogndal to attend a conference. As expected it was a typical Quality hotel where everything is nice enough, without being remarkably good or remarkably bad.

The hotel room itself was quite standard compared to other Quality hotels in Scandinavia with nice wooden floors, a comfy bed, a work desk, an armchair and a medium sized bathroom. I found the mini bar a bit annoying, with a glass door and a light that I didn’t manage to turn the off when I was going to bed. Furthermore, I didn't exactly have a good night sleep as it was a warm summer night and the room didn't have any ventilation or air condition.

The three course conference dinner was a major disappointment, and I didn’t like the conference room at all as it didn’t have any windows. The hotel is, however, newly refurbished and centrally located.

“Good hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 February 2011

Breakfast was great, free wi-fi and parking, friendly staff, delicious food in the a-la carte restaurant (also a Dolly Dimples in the same building). Clean room, mine was pink and modern! Free tea and coffee available all day. Also a hair dresser-& skin care saloon in the hotel.
