We were discovering Sognefjord and, on the way to Flåm, had an overnight stay at this hotel on the way to the ferry. It claims to be a hotel, but, there were no evening meals provided (even though the hotel was virtually full), and no information about that either. I went down to reception to order coffee and was charged 50kr for 2 small cups of lukewarm strong yuk. The first room we were given stank of smoke, so I asked to change - they seemed surprised that we were not happy! Unfortunately I forgot to give in my "Fjordpass" when I checked in, (although I went down with it an hour later) so we were not able to have a reduction on the room.
The room decor seemed to come straight out of the seventies and the gap between shower screen and bath-tub meant that water ended up all over the floor every time we took a shower.
The outdoor swimming pool was freezing! The car park was far too small for the hotel when it was busy, and I heard people being asked to take their cars to the bus station and park there; the slots were so small that, once in the slot, the car doors could not be opened. We were glad that we had arrived there early.
Advantages- room clean, good breakfast, swimming pool.
Disadvantages far too expensive - 1165kr for a basic double room, car park bays too small, not enough parking space, staff not particularly welcoming.
The web-site makes the hotel look much better than it is in reality.
