Trond and his staff, Marie and Linda, provide a "home" atmosphere. You really do feel at home and don't feel pressured to purchase anything aside from the internet access. They are genuinely kind, caring, and generous. The location is second to none. The rooms are small in case you haven't read that from the other reviews and the bathroom is overly congested. Aside from that, it is grand!

My family and I stayed at Eplet for 3 days in August 2011. It was a great location for doing excursions around the area. All the staff were extremely nice and helpful. We met people for all over the world and truly enjoyed our stay. It was our first experience staying at a hostel, and would now have the courage to try another one in another area. The place was clean and well organized. It was just a wonderful experience.

We stayed there for 2 nights - first night we stayed in a dorm and a tent on second night. The tent was all setup and the nice surprise for us (who weren't really used to be camping on holiday) was that there were mattresses on a wooden frame so we weren't really camping, but that suit us very well. We did our own cooking with the ecological lettuce fresh from the farm and we also tried the fresh raspberry. The owner was very friendly and helpful in advising on the neighborhood. Definitely worth the $$.

We had never stayed at a hostel before and didn't know what to expect and we were so happy we chose to book this wonderful hostel for 6 nights. We had a double room in the main house and shared a bath and kitchen with other travelers. The host, Trond, makes the living room and dining room of his house a common area for the travelers. There is internet access, but no tv or phones. WHAT A PLEASURE that there are no televisions here. The views from the hostel are unbelievable and the area is fantastic for an active vacation. The hostel has mtn bikes available to borrow for free. Biking along the fjord: beautiful! We did a glacier walk and climbed to the top of MT. Molden. Trond, the host, is very knowledgeable about all activities. We relied on public transportation which was doable. LOVED it here!! BUT all the cautions about prices of food, etc. are true..SO..buy food at the store, cook at the hostel and eat out occasionally. Would go back in a second!
