I have travelled frequently to Haugesund for over 20 years on business and pleasure.
And I have to say that if there is no room available at Clarion Collecton Amanda, I find another date to travel. Normally in a hotel you get the key to your room with a message when breakfast is and then you can pay. In this hotel you really feel welcome, and the staff are so friendly you dont want to leave. They organize activities in the evenings so the guests wont get bored when they are out travelling on business. The smiles and their helpfulness feels so genuine.
So among all the hotels in Haugesund, there is only one for me:Amanda:-)
Looking forward to go there again and again.

We stayed in the Amanda for 2 nights in September and really enjoyed our stay. The staff were warm, welcoming and very helpful. The rooms were a little small but well appointed and very comfortable. The breakfast and dinner buffets were simple but satisfying and made the whole experience excellent value for money.
The location was excellent, right on the waterfront, near quite a few nice restuarantas and bars for an evening out.

The breakfast and the dinner is simple and good, over time you will be bored because it's practically the same every day, but if you are just staying for one or two nights (maybe three), you can manage without going out to eat.

There is a nice and smiling staff who welcomes you, the room is okey, nothing special. good beds, tv with free norwegian tv-channels and radio (and pay-tv with movies on english) and a light bathroom.

The X-factor of this hotel is:
- You can always come down to the lobby and get a coffee/hot chocolate - and it's good.
- You can borrow a DVD free and watch it at the room (you can also play X-box in the livingroom-area).

Note!
It's a free relax-area in the fifth floor with many rooms where it's some work-out stations, bathroom, tv and chairs, great view, sauna and free alcohol-free beer. (at least for me, as I did'nt see anywhere to pay). The relax-area was a bit strange because it was unlocked, so don't walk around naked, suddenly theres someone around the next corner.

Just returned from 3 day stay at Hotel Amanda in Haugesund. Reception friendly and efficient and we were booked into our room immediately when we arrived mid-morning. Room was clean and comfortable. Buffet breakfast and lunch very welcome as It is very expensive to eat out in Norway. The 'do-it-yourself' waffles with various jams and cream in the afternoon were again most welcome as was the coffee/hot chocolate machine throughout the day

As our room was at the back of the hotel we were disturbed late on Saturday night by noisy folk standing outside the eating place on the street below . The other nights were quiet..

The location of the hotel on the quayside was great for boat trips just outside the door.. The bus station was only about a 10 minute uphill walk from the hotel. We took the Kystbusen (coast bus) to Stavanger which was well worth the trip and the journey included a welcome break on a ferry for 22 minutes where one could stretch ones legs, buy some coffee etc. The coach was very comfortable and on time.

We enjoyed our trip to Norway and hope to return soon.
