Travelling with a small coach party of people we arrived and were provided with a key card to our room. On opening the door it was found to be occupied so a long trek back to reception and eventually provided with another room. Staff was limited and the two of them seemed to have to do everything from reception, bar and serving. Our room was adequately comfortable and clean. Set evening meal was of excellent salmon, but others in our party would have liked an alternative. Service took a long time due to lack of staff. This was a one night stop over on our tour.

“Comfortable hotel”
Hovden hotel offers a good alternative besides many holiday cabins in this area. It is comfortable and you don't have to prepare the food or clean the house. Just relax and enjoy your holidays.
I have been in this hotel many times due to my business trips. It is a perfect place also to meet the customers.

The hotel has made a good choice with not putting out photos of the hotel rooms on the web page, but even when I emailed and asked if I could have a photo of it, they just replied "The rooms are big and modern"- WHAT A LIE! They look AWFULL and you feel like on a old cruice ship! The bathroom is so small you can almost not close the door. I really felt depressed when we entered the room- DONT GO HERE! RENT A CABIN!!!
The lobby+bar area is nice-and do not match the rest of the hotel.

We are sorry for the bad experience you had in our hotel. We have rooms with different sizes, and the rooms and bathrooms are in line with the Norwegian standard. We have now added description and pictures of the rooms on our website, so people know what to expect before they arrive. We have also made additional upgrades to the hotel's common areas after you visited us.
