“A very good hotel/ good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 November 2011

This is a great hotel if you arrive at Helsink airport late evening, there is a free shuttle bus, and the rates are budget. I cannot say the hotel was budget though, the reception staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was large enough, had two excellent sized twin beds, and had other little 'touches' like slippers for children and mints on each bed. We were amused to have such normal touches like a hair dryer/fridge etc, but no kettle. When we queried this, the receptionist told us that kettles were only in the upper class rooms. In Australia, a kettle is standard in any hotel/motel, which is why were were amused, but it is not standard to have an ironing press, which this room had. Breakfast was sufficient, don't be late because they will pack it away. If you are going to the airport, make sure you use the shuttle, as we did a taxi of 2 kms, and kit cost us 13 euros. Then we took the bus to the city (17kms), and the cost was 4 euros pp. So taxis are expensive and the buses are cheap. The 4 euros also got us to the ferry terminal, so effectively, the public transport here is very cheap. Our taxi driver told us it would cost us 40 euros to the centre of Helsinkli. Also, the local people are very friendly and helpful, so ask questions, you will find it easy to gtravel around Helsinki by public transport.Checkout time is 12pm, a plus for us, and if you need to stay longr, the cost is 10 euros ph

Room Tip: as per above, use public transport, not taxis. the public transport is reliable, modern and cheap

“Good value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 November 2011

It is an airport hotel of a budget side and a good one.
We stayed there for 1 night arriving late (22.00) and leaving early (5.00)
Nobody was expecting a notice of late check in and the breakfast was served from 4.00
The restaurant is open until quit late so you can have your bite almost 24h
The room was in a good size, quiet and the beds were good quality.
It is a 5 minutes walk from the bus stop (to/from the very center of Helsinki) and there is a free transfer to airport. It is exactly what you want if you need an overnight stay nearby Vantaa airport.

“Good airport option”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 October 2011

Perfectly comfortable, clean, and nice hotel near the airport. Free subtitle runs to it from arrivals quite regularly, or a can costs less than €10.

It's an airport hotel though, so it's miles away from everywhere apart from the airport. This is particularly true in the case of Helsinki. Pretty much othing else nearby.

Great option for airport stays. Otherwise, go into town.

“Bussiness and one night stay only”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2011

If youre having a layover at Helsinki the hotel works fine. Otherwise look for something better in the city center.
Rooms are clean, but arent comfortable and cozy at all.
Breakfast and dinner restaurant offer great cuisine.
The free wifi is also a good advantage.

“OK for a night not for 4 weeks”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 September 2011

I stayed there for business in September 2011
Hotel offers quite a good breakfast, with large selection of breads, cereals, some fruits, eggs,etc...
Rooms are ok, free Wifi, the daily cleaning is minimalist though...

The NO NO is you are a tourist is to stay there longer than 1 night
The airport is 10/15 min away thanks to a free shuttle which passes by every 20 min and then downtown is like miles away.

there is a shopping center (jumbo) near by but onlly reachable by car since it s on the other side of a high way. It has 3 restaurants, in case you get tired of seeing the menu of the hotel.

We had booked the hotel for 4 weeks since the ofice was not so far, but after 2 days we canceled the 3 following week to be in town, it didnt matter that we had to drive 20min every day. The location is just plainly depressing.
