My family of five stayed four nights at Munkebjerg. The setting is absolutely beautiful. The back area of the hotel overlooks the Vejle Fjord. The grounds are very nicely landscaped. It was pleasant to just walk around the outside of the hotel. There are several hiking trails surrounding the hotel which we also enjoyed. The lobby area is also nicely done with comfortable furniture and a fire going in the fireplace. However, the rooms are very dated. We had two adjoining rooms and neither met my expectation. The carpeting is very old and worn, it is disgusting. The decor is minimal, and not modern minimal, but minimal and old. I almost felt like I was staying in an American state park. But we did not spend much time in our rooms so it did not matter too much. The breakfast buffet was delicious and make even better by sitting outside to enjoy the scenery. The dinner buffet was just average.
