My only regret of this trip was not spending more time in the beautiful city of Herning. Travelling with a coach group of one hundred and fifty other people meant that we did the typically British thing of moving in packs, without venturing much outside the hotel because we didn't know our way around Herning other than the Kvik Ice Arena that we frequented for the ice hockey games of the semi-finals of the Continental Cup, in which our team, the Sheffield Steelers, were playing. The staff were very helpful and spoke perfect English, the buffet breakfast was sublime with a great choice of cooked, cold meats and/or cereals and yoghurts. The fruit juices was great too, as was the tea and coffee. Speaking of tea and coffee, the tea and coffee making facilities in the room were excellent, while the room itself was very spacious, clean and comfortable. I've read in previous reviews about the noise level and can honestly say that being on the second floor, my partner and I didn't experience it - though the sight of free ear defenders in the wardrobe did have me worried at first! The bathroom was more of a wet room, really - but the power shower was amazing! It would've been nice if the hotel had catered for evening meals as well as breakfast; the sandwiches sold in the lobby just didn't seem to satisfy me as an evening meal. Overall, I would definitely stay at Scandic Regina again - hopefully for a longer period than three days next time!
